Toys R Us Plans To Reopen Stores In Time For Christmas

Nearly a year after shutting the doors on one of the biggest toy store chains in the country, the CEO of Toys R Us has announced that the store is set to make a comeback.

Online, people have been reacting positively to the news and are excited to see the stores' new features like more play areas and an improved online shopping experience.

You may recall that Toys R Us locations across the United States shut their doors in June 2018.

The chain was forced to close all its stores after declaring bankruptcy. Locations in Canada remained open, though.

The store cited competition from online retailers like Amazon as part of the reason for shutting down.

With the news that the stores will reopen, the company's CEO, Richard Barry, said that they will be focusing on e-commerce. The stores will also have a new, smaller layout but with improved play areas for kids.

You can expect to shop at Toys R Us once again just in time for the holiday season when the company opens two new stores.

Online, people nostalgic for the store have voiced their excitement over its return. I'm sure that Geoffrey the Giraffe will be happy about this news, too!

After the relaunch with two stores, whose locations have yet to be announced, the company then plans to open more stores in 2020.
