Netflix Is Teaming Up With WWE For A New Movie Titled 'The Main Event'

In a strange turn of events, this is actually a thing that is happening.

WWE and Netflix are teaming up to produce a live-action film called The Main Event.

It's actually based on an original screenplay.

It's meant to be a family movie.

Jay Karas (Parks and Recreation) will be directing the screenplay that was written by Larry Postel.

Richard Lowel, Susan Levison, and Maggie Malina from WWE are on the production team.

The movie is set to release sometime in 2020.

The movie follows a young boy who wants to wrestle for WWE.

He finds a magical mask which leads him to become a WWE star.

The movie has a stellar cast.

Seth Carr, Tichina Arnold, Ken Marino, and Adam Pally are in the film.

And from WWE: Kofi Kingston, Mike "The Miz" Mizanin, and The Celtic Warrior, Sheamus.

We're sure that many more WWE stars will join the movie.
