23 Home Hacks That Come Through When It Matters

If you spend a lot of time in your home, you want to make sure it's an enjoyable place to be, right? And in order for any space to be comfortable, it needs to be neat and organized.

Whether you realize it or not, dirt and clutter can put a serious damper on things! Thankfully, all it takes are a few simple, household hacks to make any living space feel like home.

1. Tea-rrific!

Instead of cluttering up precious cupboard space with bulky boxes of tea, throw them into small sandwich bags, cut out the label, and store everything in an easy-to-grab plastic container.

2. Picture This

Tension rods can be used in a variety of ways, but I think one of my favorite uses is to organize cleaning items under a sink. This hack frees up space along the bottom of the cupboard, making room for bulkier items or things that can't hang from the rod.

Cleaning the baseboards in your home can be a real pain, especially for your back and knees. The next time you're faced with this task, cover a broom with a microfiber cloth, secure it in place with an elastic, and spray the bottom with a bit of Pledge Multi-Surface cleaner. Doing so will prevent you from having to get down on your hands and knees to clean!

Some glass vessels have narrow openings which make them nearly impossible to clean. If you have cloudy glass that you can't stand to look at, pour some rubbing alcohol into the container, swish it around, and dump it out. This will take them from cloudy to crystal clear in no time!

8. Dust Buster

Ceiling vents are usually the last thing most home owners think to clean. However, even if this is something you haven't done in a while, don't be afraid! All you need is a can of air and a small nozzle extender to get the job done.

Another part of the house that tends to be neglected are ceiling fan blades. And trust me, these things can get incredibly dusty! So, the next time you want to clean them, use an empty pillowcase. Not only does it make this chore quick and easy, it also prevents the dust from falling onto anything beneath the fan.

10. Just Like New

Anyone living in an older home is probably familiar with this common baseboard problem. But fixing it doesn't have to involve a contractor or any major renovations. For a quick fix that looks amazing, simply use caulking and painter's tape.
