Little Caesars' Frito-Topped Pizzas Are Making Us Question Our Devotion To Pizza

Usually, I'm of the opinion that it's kind of hard to mess up pizza. After all, it's a pretty straightforward formula, right? Dough, sauce, cheese, your favorite accouterments, and bam, you've got the perfect pie.

Besides, how can you tell someone their pizza preference is wrong? We all have different tastes and we all like what we like. So really, it seems like the world of pizza should be a happy, cohesive little place.

Except it's not because some pizza toppings are just insulting. Cue: Fritos on pizza.

Little Caesar's is currently testing the waters with their new Fritos-topped creation.

According to Delish, the chain has introduced Fritos Pie Pizza, a dish that no one asked for and no one really wants.

Well, except if you're the kind of person who likes their pizza just how you like your Fritos pie and apparently, that particular demographic resides in the South because Fritos pie is huge there.

For those of you who I'm sure are wondering right now, here's what's exactly in a so-called Fritos pie.

This popular dish is sort of like a catchall for ingredients you might find leftover in your kitchen and you throw together to make a "meal". Sometimes people even make it right in the Fritos bag because why dirty dishes, right?

It's a casserole of sorts made up of chili, cheese, and you guessed it, Fritos. Some people add a bit more to their pie, like salsa, refried beans, sour cream, onions, rice, and maybe jalapeƱos if they're in the mood for a kick. But the star of the show here is of course the Fritos, bringing a salty, crunchy element to an otherwise pretty soft casserole.

Little Caesars' new pizza has all these elements combined into what I'm sure was pitched as a 'culinary revolution'.

The thin-crust pizza reportedly features chili cheese, taco sauce, and chili cheese Fritos topping.

But, perhaps in an effort to avoid a soggy corn chip mess, the Fritos come on the side in a bag so you can add as much as you like to the top of your pizza, you animal.

For anyone looking to give this pizza experiment a try, you're out of luck if you don't live in the South.

Fittingly, since these are the people who will probably appreciate a Fritos pie pizza the most, the dish is curently only available at Little Caesars locations in Johnson City, Piney Flats, Elizabethton, Gray, or Kingsport, Tennessee.

If you're in those areas, you can pick yours up for an absolute steal at $10.

There's no official word yet on if/when people in the rest of the country can try the pie for themselves.

Because it's in testing mode right now, it really depends on customer reception. So maybe we should all just cross our fingers and hope this is the last we'll hear of this pizza because I really don't think I would be able to handle witnessing anyone eat this in front of me.

Some things are just better left alone, and pizza is definitely one of those things. When will we learn that?
