Miley Cyrus Was Called Out For Stealing A Baker's Design After Posing With An 'Abortion Is Healthcare' Cake

Miley Cyrus took to Instagram to announce her collaboration with Planned Parenthood, the Happy Hippie Foundation, and Marc Jacobs.

Unfortunately, things backfired pretty quickly.

So lately, there's been a lot going on in the United States.

But honestly, when isn't there a lot going on there?

Recently it has to do with abortion.

Georgia recently passed a bill which takes away most healthcare for abortion.

This includes for people who have been the victim of rape.

Obviously, a lot of people were divided.

The pro-life group vs. the pro-choice group once again had a battle.

And once again, there was never really any ending.

However, directors and production companies are taking a stand.

A lot of people are threatening to pull out of Georgia as a protest.

And then Miley dropped a preview of her album.

And she incorporated a lot of feminist vibes.

This included her stance on abortion and healthcare.

Miley Cyrus recently shared a photo of herself licking a cake that read, "Abortion is healthcare".

And while fans were excited about the upcoming collaboration between Planned Parenthood, the Happy Hippie Foundation, and Marc Jacobs, things quickly turned sour.

Some people had problems with her simply for posting it.

It's a wild ride. But someone else had a bigger problem with it...

Baker Becca Rea-Holloway, known as The Sweet Feminist on Instagram, quickly pointed out that the cake design was stolen.

About a month prior, Becca had posted a similar cake on her Instagram.

"Miley Cyrus just announced a collaboration with Marc Jacobs, Planned Parenthood, Happy Hippie Foundation using this image," she wrote.

"It is a direct theft of my own original art work from May 2018, with no credit. It’s literally my exact handwriting, message, and concept. [...] Cake art is for everyone, but this is inexcusable," she added.

It wasn't long before Miley jumped in and tried to explain what happened.

She explained that they had seen the cake online, but didn't realize who it belonged to, and offered to give her "all the credit" that she deserved.

Miley then tagged Becca's Instagram account, but didn't give her credit in the caption.

And for Becca, this was simply not enough credit, and she fired back in the comments.

"This is not "inspiration", it's theft," Becca responded.

She also responded, explaining that tagging her in the post doesn't change the fact that her work was used without compensation and without her consent.

She also pointed out that Miley's fans were sending her messages, horrible comments, and evening threatening her.

Fortunately, Becca's fans are coming to her defense.

They recognized the cake on Miley's page as Becca's design, and many were disappointed that she wasn't approached about it at all.

This isn't the first time that the artwork of a smaller artist has been used by major celebs or companies.

Even though Miley's cake was for a good cause, it's never okay to steal ideas and concepts. Here's hoping that Becca gets the compensation she deserves!
