There's One Final Theory About Daenerys' Fate In 'Game Of Thrones'

We only have a few days until we’re going to be watching the series finale of Game of Thrones.

The theories are finally coming to an end, and there is a new one that has appeared about the Mother of Dragons.

Warning: Game of Thrones spoilers ahead!

Daenerys Targaryen is one of the best characters in the series.

Fans are sad to see her downfall in the last few episodes.

She has gone from heroic to mad in a very short amount of time.

We first saw these signs of madness at the start of season 8.

When Jon revealed his true identity to Dany, she was visibly upset, but it wasn't because she realized she was sleeping with her nephew.

Instead, Daenerys was more focused on the fact that Jon was really Aegon Targaryen.

We all know that her main goal on the show has been to sit on the iron throne and reclaim the land that her family once ruled.

Jon turning out to be Aegon Targaryen makes him the rightful heir to the throne and thus, Dany's new competition.

As a matter of fact, Dany's lust for power didn't just start in season 8.

If you look back at her record, Daenerys has been slowly building a reputation for being a murderous queen.

Even though her actions were seen as righteous, it's no secret that Dany will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

From Astapor to Meereen, Daenerys has been using fire and blood to free slaves and take armies.

However, apparently, there’s a reason for all this. In these final episodes, there is a new theory about our queen.

The theorist was hoping for this theory to be confirmed in “The Bells”.

It didn't happen in that episode, but we still have the series finale to see if it comes true.

Back in season one, Dany received three dragon eggs.

The eggs represented her family legacy, and she has come to fulfill that legacy in many ways.

She has proven herself to be a true queen and ruler, upholding the Targaryen name.

So what is the theory?

HBO

Here we go.

She’s an actual dragon, making her the literal Mother of Dragons. The theory goes into extensive research, bringing up a lot of past lines and conflicts that Dany has faced.

The new theory actually comes from the opening sequence.

HBO

In the new opening, we see a large dragon with three small dragons.

Naturally, this could be a very simple metaphor. Dany is the Mother of Dragons and she has always referred to her dragons as children.

Fans have been trying to decipher what it means.

Because of this change in sequence, there is a new Reddit theory going around.

It's about what and who Daenerys Targaryen actually is.

The theorist speculates that the transformation will happen as a final snap.

Dany will be pushed to a psychological edge, and will end up transforming into a dragon.

This is something that her brother and father have both failed to do.

If you remember, her father Aerys was obsessed with fire and used wildfire to kill his growing list of traitors. It also appeared that he once believed he might have become a dragon himself.

Jamie Lannister even spoke to Brienne once and said the following,

“You’ve heard of Wildfire? The Mad King was obsessed with it. He loved to watch people burn… Aerys saw traitors everywhere, so he had his pyromancer place caches of wildfire all over the city. Beneath the Sept of Baelor and the slums of Flea Bottom. Under houses, stables, taverns. Even beneath the Red Keep itself. Finally, the day of reckoning came. ‘Burn them all,’ he kept saying. ‘Burn them all.’ I don’t think he expected to die. He meant to burn with the rest of us and rise again, reborn as a dragon to turn his enemies to ash.”

Then there was Dany's brother, Viserys who showed a strong attachment to dragons.

Viserys once threatened Dany and said, "You don’t want to awaken the dragon."

Unfortunately for Viserys, he learned the hard way that it was actually another Targaryen with true dragon blood.

When he met his fateful end, his sister remained calm and simply said, "He was no dragon. Fire cannot kill a dragon."

It would be amazing to see Dany transform into an actual dragon.

The Reddit user who posted the theory has theories involving other characters too, but this is definitely the most epic one.
