Chrissy Teigen Reveals Postpartum Depression Caused 'Distinct Changes' To Her Personality

A few celebrity moms have begun speaking out about their experiences with postpartum depression.

Even though this condition is very common, women are still afraid to talk about it because of the stigma surrounding it.

Chrissy Teigen is now revealing new details about her personal experience with the condition, including the moment she realized she had it.

Chrissy Teigen has two beautiful children with her husband, John Legend.

Luna is three-years-old and Miles will be turning one in just a few weeks.

While Chrissy posts lots of relatable parenting updates online, she's also opened up about her struggle with postpartum depression.

After the birth of Luna, Chrissy wrote an article that detailed her struggle.

"I’m speaking up now because I want people to know it can happen to anybody and I don’t want people who have it to feel embarrassed or to feel alone," she said in a piece for Glamour.

Many people applauded Chrissy's bravery for speaking out about her experience with the condition.

Now Chrissy is speaking out again, giving new insight into her struggle.

According to Chrissy, one red flag was how her friends and family noticed a distinct change in her personality.

"I thought it was the baby blues until people around me started telling me they saw distinct changes in my personality — that was really helpful to me," she said in an interview on The Today Show.

At first, Chrissy brushed off the changes as regular fatigue.

"I had really changed. It wasn't just being tired, it was being really, really sad and hard on yourself, and down on yourself," she said looking back on the experience.

Through it all, Chrissy has been grateful for the support from John and other moms who also had PPD.

"John and my doctors were my strength. I had such a good group of people that were around and people were really watchful of me," she said.

We're so glad that Chrissy is continuing to spread awareness about this important issue. Such a strong mama!
