Some Men Are Pissed About Arya's Big Moment On 'Game Of Thrones'

Game Of Thrones, Game Of Thrones, Game Of Thrones, everyone's talking about that these days.

What, just because it's a huge breakout show that's garnered millions of viewers in its last season, we should give it all the attention? Actually, that's a pretty good reason.

So, can we talk about "Game Of Thrones" Season 8 Episode 3 yet?

I mean, without worrying about spoilers?

What's that? People are still mulling around on Season 2?

Gosh darn it, mom, you gotta catch up! I have so many Ramsay Bolton memes I wanna send you!

Whatever. Consider this your "Spoiler Warning".

Giphy

Alright?

The spoiler train is pulling into the station folks, if you haven't seen the episode, then boil your laptop or phone in some molten magma right now.

Ready? Okay, here we go.

The third episode of Season 8 had a lot of great moments.

HBO

But the pinnacle of moments was when Arya killed the Night King. It was such an awesome moment for the character, and it was nice for all her skills to culminate in such an important bit.

Unfortunately, not everyone shares that sentiment.

Yes, it seems that some men on the internet have been showing some push back on the moment.

Why you ask? Well, according to them, there are a litany of reasons.

For starters, they think that Arya killing the Night King is lame

Apparently, they wanted Jon Snow to be the one who ended the life of the Night King.

I'm sorry, I guess you guys should be the ones writing the breakthrough series and captivated the minds and hearts of a generation. My mistake.

Some people think that her training had nothing to do with it.

I guess not... I mean, it's not like she was trained throughout the entire series how to kill, it's not like that's her entire character arc or anything... or wait, am I thinking of Mean Girls again? Yes, I am, sorry. Regina George and Arya Stark are two different people.

Some people don't even get how she did it.

Except, if they watched the series, they would understand that Arya has been trained as a ninja-like assassin since, oh, I dunno, maybe season 1!

I'm starting to think that these guys haven't even seen Game Of Thrones.

Like you saw before, people are calling her a "Mary Sue"

For the uninitiated, a Mary Sue is defined as "a term used to describe a fictional character, usually female, who is seen as too perfect and almost boring for lack of flaws, originally written as an idealized version of an author in fanfiction."

They even pulled out the classic "NPC" meme.

Ah yes, use the old "you people are sheep" defense.

Works for goth twelve-year-olds against their parents, and it definitely works for you against female fans of the series, fellas.

For the record, guys, she did it with her ninja skills.

HBO

We've written a whole article about how she got past the Night King's army, so if you're confused, please go read that.

Alternatively, watch this wight's hair. See the twitch? That's her going in for the kill.

People, specifically women, have clapped back at these guys.

For starters, addressing the fact that everyone's calling her a Mary Sue. Honestly, girl, I'm fed up too. It's like, you can't even come out with a strong woman character these days without that word being thrown around.

This woman gets to the root of the problem.

And it's male insecurity. Because of course, it is, there have been so many issues and debates throughout history that have been because of that very issue.

We can only assume this pack of incels is going to be on the wrong side of history.

Giphy

Or should I say HERstory. What? Too much? Alright, I'll tone it down. Sorry everyone, I just get carried away when it comes to these types of situations.

Remember though, no matter what, we can still enjoy "Game Of Thrones"

HBO

It doesn't matter what these Negative Neils have to say, because, at the end of the day, we still get to have fun with the show.

Whether Arya kills the Night King or sits on the Iron Throne or heck, even if she dies in the next episode. Wait, scratch that last one.

What do you think?

Giphy

Do you think Arya should have killed the Night King? Or do you think she's a vagina-having Mary Sue who you totally wouldn't want to hang out with?

Don't worry, she wouldn't want to hang out with you either.
