You Can Make Your Own Backyard Oasis With A Fire Pit Just In Time For Summer

Summer is just around the corner, and that means it's almost time to get ready for all your backyard BBQ parties.

Instead of having your guests bring those flimsy camping chairs, why not upgrade and add a DIY pergola with swings and a fire pit? It'll definitely take your summer get-togethers to a whole new level.

Take a look at this awesome project from Little White House Blog and Remodelaholic to get inspired.

Lauren Ashworth, who's behind "Little White House Blog", worked with her husband to make this amazing DIY pergola and fire pit.

They built the whole thing from scratch and surprisingly, this project only cost them about $2300 to make, including the cost of renting tools.

They even made their own adirondack chairs at the price of $50 a chair.

That's really a bargain. Plus, these are the perfect chairs for hanging out around on the fire on a summer's night.

Here's what the final project looked like.

Isn't this so dreamy? I'm ready to hang out in one of those swings with a good book and a glass of sweet tea.

It's hard to see, but the pergola even has a small bar and storage area. They really thought of everything.

As well, Lauren plans on adding an outdoor screen to project movies onto.

This is even better than a drive-in. Alright, guys, fire up the popcorn. I'm coming over for a summer movie night.

Since posting her tutorial, other people have been sharing their take on the project.

I guess the only thing left to do is to start on my own DIY pergola. I better get on it if I want it ready for summer.
