Kate Beckinsale Finally Opened Up About What It's Like Dating Pete Davidson

I'm just gonna go ahead and say it: Pete Davidson is an absolute legend. He was engaged to Ariana Grande, and now he's dating another one of the most beautiful women on the planet, Kate Beckinsale.

He must be even funnier in person to lock those two ladies down.

The tale of Pete and Kate all started at the Golden Globes after party in January.

The pair were supposedly flirting it up all night and seen getting rather cozy with each other.

Shortly after that, they were spotted holding hands, leaving one of Pete's stand-up shows.

At that point, neither of them had confirmed or denied their relationship, but I mean, all the evidence was there?

They decided to announce their relationship without actually announcing their relationship.

Instead of making a formal statement, the pair decided to simply show the public just how official they really were.

Nothing says "we're dating" quite like passionately making out at a hockey game, sitting next to a bunch of complete strangers.

Complete strangers and Antoni from Queer Eye, of course.

This was textbook new-relationship-behavior.

Fans were very quick to criticize their 20-year age difference, but Pete made it clear from the get-go that their age gap wasn't going to pose an issue in their relationship.

"Apparently people have a crazy fascination with our age difference," he said. "But it doesn't really bother us."

Even comedian, David Spade, chimed in — commenting on a video of Kate holding a baby cheetah.

“You like them young! (Now don’t fight back and roast me just quietly stew and take the hit,)” he wrote.

But Kate wasn't shy about clapping back at his comment.

“@Davidspade never gonna happen grandpa,” she fired back.

But one day after that exchange, Kate abruptly deleted all of her existing instagram posts.

All the while, Kate had never spoken out about their relationship explicitly. She was keeping things on the DL.

Understandably, she was probably just waiting for the right time — but that time is now.

In an interview with LA Times, Kate finally opened up about her new boyfriend, Pete.

She claimed to be "surprised" by the amount of public interest circling their budding romance.

"I’ve never been in this position before — never dated anybody who comes with their own bag of mischief," she said.

"It's all quite shocking, and something to get used to," she added.

She explained that her personal life being under a microscope is something she's not a huge fan of.

"I’d rather not have people hiding outside my house. It’s a little old fashioned to have a woman’s personal life [looked at like that]. It’s a little bit tired," she said.

Kate went on to explain that even though there's a lot of attention surrounding their relationship, it's worth it.

"I think if you liked the person less, you would bow out of it," she explained. "If that were the main thrust of the relationship, there would be a problem. But it’s not."

She also shared her views on why she deleted all the contents of her Instagram account.

"If it became oppressive or upsetting, I would be very happy to let go of it," she said.

So, even though Kate is taking a hiatus from social media, we can rest assured knowing that it's probably for the best.

If it takes some pressure off of her new relationship with Pete, then it's a must.

Will Kate Beckinsale be Pete's next fiancée? Stay tuned!

Do you think their age difference will hinder their compatibility down the road?

Is 20 years too large of an age gap?

Does age even matter?

Whatever the case may be, they seem to be two peas in a pod for now — we couldn't be happier for them.
