I'll admit that I'm sometimes jaded about the Christmas season. I can't help but roll my eyes when the store shelves are covered with tinsel and glitter before Halloween even happens and I have a firm December 1st rule for decorating my own home.
But guys...I kind of adore Hallmark Channel Christmas movies.
In 2018, Hallmark Channel aired 37 movies during their Countdown to Christmas.
And lest you think that only Christmas devotes tune in, those 2018 movies averaged 3.5 million viewers, which is incredible for a cable network on a Saturday night. We may make fun of them, but Hallmark Channel is killing it.
In these days of anti-heroes, gritty drama, and ironic comedies, sometimes you just want to watch something that makes you feel good.
These movies are like the romance novels of television. Simple, predictable plots with happy endings pretty much guaranteed. They're a holiday treat that won't ruin your healthy diet.
Every Friday night, you can settle in to watch one of Hallmark Channel's favorite Countdown to Christmas movies. The announcement was made on Facebook where it gained a ton of excitement.
Movies announced have included Christmas Under Wraps from 2014, and Crown For Christmas from 2015.
Of course, another batch of new movies is expected for the 2019 season, which also includes two new Hanukkah-themed films! Yay!
