And you'll get a certificate that gets you admission into Hemsley, but otherwise it's just a keepsake.

They're calling the event "Quit Bugging Me," and it's about as straightforward as it sounds.

Send them your ex's name through a Facebook message by February 10 and they'll post the names (first and last name initial) on Facebook starting February 11.

At 2:15 p.m. local time, the feeding frenzy begins. You can go watch in person if you're in the area, but they'll also be broadcasting the event on Facebook Live and on their website's meerkat cam.

So why would El Paso do this all for free?

"This is a fun way to get the community involved in our daily enrichment activities," the zoo's event coordinator, Sarah Borrego, told KFOX.

"The meerkats love to get cockroaches as a snack and what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by feeding them a cockroach named after your ex!"

It looks like those meerkats are already in for a fine meal.

In the short time the zoo's Facebook post about the Quit Bugging Me event has been live, they've already received more than 200 comments, many of them just a name with an initial.

There are a lot of hurting folks out there who want to give those meerkats a treat!
