After years of calls from the public, Sony Music has made the decision to pull the plug on R. Kelly.
The decision comes just weeks after Lifetime's Surviving R. Kelly aired, detailing years of sexual assault towards women.

R. Kelly Has Officially Been Dropped By Sony Music
As of January 18th, R. Kelly has been removed from the RCA Records website, which lists the label’s signed artists.

As of right now, there are no plans for an official announcement from Sony, Variety reports.
A source revealed to Variety that Sony took its time to "responsibly" wade through the many reported issues, and avoid any legal ramifications.

Sony dropping Kelly is just a drop in the bucket of various artists who are removing their collaborations with him from Spotify.

Several radio stations have also stopped playing his music, thanks to public backlash.
As of right now, there's no indication on if his backlog of music will remain with Sony.

Variety reports that he hasn't released a song with the label since his Christmas album in 2016.
He also tweeted earlier this year that he has an album in the works.
Regardless, this is a big move from Sony and really speaks volumes in regards to his alleged actions towards women over the years.
