Mom Blasts Aldi For Painting Over A Parents Parking Spot To Make It Gender Neutral

This mom was inconvenienced at a grocery store, so she took to Facebook to let everyone know.

Where Ever Will I Park?!

Ema Taylor is a 29-year-old mother who lives in the U.K. Recently, she went to the local Aldi to pick up some produce. But when she went to park, she was horrified to discover she couldn't park in the spot reserved for parents.

A World Gone Mad

The reason? It was being painted. Why? To make the spot gender neutral. Previously, it showed a woman in a dress holding a kid's hand. They were painting the dress part off.

"The world has literally gone MAD!!," she wrote on her Facebook page.

Is This a Joke?

She later explained to The Sun how the whole ordeal went down:

"I was just popping in for some fruit as they have the best variety. I go in every single day as we go through so much.

"There were two guys standing in front of bays they had just painted. I asked if they were taking the spaces away and when he told me why they were doing it I thought he was joking at first.

No It Isn't

But guess what? They weren't joking. The horror.

"He said they needed to be gender neutral as the dress is offending dads with children and people who don’t identify as male or female.

"Now it looks like a man with a superhero suit - do people identify as a superhero?

My son does when he puts on his Batman cape, actually.

The Irony

Here comes some rich irony. I hope you're ready for it:

"With everything going on who has the time to care about a sign on the floor?

Yet she went out of her way to take photos of it and post it on Facebook to show that she cares very deeply about a sign on the floor.

There was more:

"It’s ridiculous. It’s gone from being a stick woman to now being a superhero, it’s a bit laughable.

"Mums do actually have to give birth to these children so I think I’ve earned my right to have a picture of me painted in the mother and baby parking space.

Why does everyone think they're entitled to exactly whatever it is they want?

Oh My

Fellow mothers were also outraged by this development. "You really do question what you’re bringing your children into don’t you," one commenter asked.

Aldi Responds

An Aldi spokesman actually had to address this issue:

"All parent and child car parking spaces at Aldi stores are gender-neutral. This sign was painted incorrectly and will be changed."

Unfriend Me

Still, Ema says you can unfriend her if you don't like her opinion on this important matter. Facebook remains the greatest.

It's For All Parents

As a dad who often goes shopping with his kids, I completely agree with this statement.

Too Much Time

This is probably the most accurate reaction. If you have time to take photos of asphalt and post a rant on Facebook about it, then you might need a hobby.
