Fans Roast 'The Situation' For Doing Cash Giveaway Before Prison Sentence

I hope everyone has their permission slips signed because we're about to go on a field trip to 2009 when the world was a much, much wilder place.

Remember "Jersey Shore"?

Who are we kidding, of course you do.

Even if you didn't watch it religiously from 2009 until its devastating cancelation in 2012, you've probably at least heard of the cast members who made the show what it was.

Years later, all of our favorite Guidos and Guidettes have grown up and gone on to live relatively normal lives.

I mean, Snooki is about to be a mother of three! Does anyone else feel super old?

On a less positive note, we learned a few years ago that Mike 'The Situation' was charged with tax evasion.

Late last year, he was sentenced to 8 months in prision, 2 years probation, and 500 hours of community service.

He was ordered to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons by January 15th, 2019, reports Time.

With his prison date right around the corner, fans were surprised to see a contest currently happening on his Instagram page.

To celebrate 2019, he wanted to thank his fans by giving away "$2000 in PayPal cash".

All fans had to do was follow all 43 accounts that the Instagram account @thesituationgives was following.

Sure, it's an easy way to win a couple thousand dollars.

If you don't mind following 43 random Instagram accounts.

But fans were more concerned about the fact that that he was charged with tax evasion, and is out here giving away large amounts of cash.

I mean, it's a fair point I guess.

My guess is that all of those 43 accounts he wants you to follow just pitched in $45 in exchange for some promotion and new followers.

Either way, it's a great way for fans to potentially earn some much-needed money, so I wouldn't complain.

Here's hoping those 8 months go by quickly, and he can move on with the rest of his life.

He seems to really be turning things around these days!
