13+ Clever Ways Celebs Hid Their Baby Bumps On-Screen

Celebs proudly show off their baby bums on the red carpet and during photo shoots.

The only time they might not want to flaunt that bun in the oven is when they're at work — especially if their character isn't pregnant.

Here are a few ways that shows and movies hid an actor's growing bump. For some of these actors, they hid it so well that I didn't realize they were pregnant until now.

Mindy Kaling

IMDb

When Mindy surprised her fans by announcing her pregnancy in 2017, many were curious as to how the last season of The Mindy Project would play out.

Mindy revealed that she worked closely with the show's costume designer and cinematographer to hide her growing bump.

Amy Poehler

NBC

In the second season of Parks And Recreation, Amy was carrying a bun in the oven.

The show hid her bump by dressing her in loose clothes, or using props like this bag to hide it.

Jenna Fischer

Jenna wasn't the only actress from The Office who would hide a bump on the show.

In the fourth season, Angela was pregnant in real life, but her character wasn't.

Thanks to Angela's conservative outfits and the use of cubicles, they were able to keep her bump under wraps.

Gal Gadot

If you can believe it, Gal Gadot was five months pregnant when she re-shot some of the fights scenes for Wonder Woman.

She had to wear a green band across her bump so that it could be edited out in post-production.

She would also hold props like bags and papers in front of her body.

Reese Witherspoon

Focus Features

Reese Witherspoon was pregnant during the filming of Vanity Fair.

Thankfully, those bulky period clothes and empire waists hid her bump well. I honestly can't tell that she was pregnant at all in that movie.

During the fifth season of Grey's Anatomy, Ellen was pregnant, but you probably didn't even realize it until now.

Thanks to those hospital scrubs, her growing belly was hidden pretty well and the show used a few strategic camera angles, too.

Penelope Cruz

IMDb

Penelope actually had to enlist the help of her sister to stand in for her during some of the wide shots of Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides.

Her baby bump was simply too noticeable!

However, her bump did come in handy when her character won a hot dog eating contest.

Lisa Kudrow

When Lisa Kudrow announced she was pregnant, the Friends writers had to come up with a creative way to incorporate her pregnancy.

This is what lead to the storyline of Phoebe carrying her brother's triplets. Yes, that was her real bump all along.

Courtney Cox

Another Friends pregnancy, but this one had to be hidden.

Since her character was supposed to be struggling with infertility, Courtney Cox had to cover up her bump with loose clothes and accessories like scarves.
