Woman Shares Disturbing Texts From Stranger Who Just Won't Accept A No

You could call the dating world a cesspool, but really, the dating world gives cesspools a bad name. Pick a dating app, any dating app, and you can rest assured you'll find more baggage than any airline has ever lost.

Between the catfishers, the gaslighters, the narcissists, and the harassers, most days I count my lucky stars to have found someone just so I don't have to put myself through that nightmare.

And just to remind us all of how awful humans can be on dating sites, one woman shared her interactions with a guy who just wouldn't leave her alone.

The woman, who goes by @gothhunny on Twitter, shared what's become an all too common occurrence on dating apps.

A complete stranger who she didn't even match with on Tinder still decided to message her. And when she said she wasn't interested — many times — he wouldn't give up.

So she posted his messages on Twitter, with the caption: "i rejected a man today, who found me off tinder but we did not match. this is how the conversation ended after i said 6 times i was not interested."

There is a fine line between persistence and harassment, guys. If she has said she's not interested six times, it's not persistence. She's not dropping hints anymore.

Compared to some of the nasty messages women receive on social media, his actual messages are pretty tame.

It's the attitude behind them that's so disturbing, like he's entitled to a reply for some reason. And, unfortunately, it's something women encounter all the time on dating apps.

Just a tip for the uninitiated: If she calls you creepy, you've gone too far. If she asks you to leave her alone, leave her alone.

That should be pretty clear. It's really not as difficult as this guy is making it. Does he really think this line of questioning is somehow going to change her mind?

Like, gee, why wouldn't she want to match with this charmer?

The Instagram account he seemingly created just to message her has since been deleted, naturally. Women in her Twitter comments had plenty of experiences of their own to share, too. It's all pretty depressing when you think about it.

The ultimate answer, the one everyone needs to pay attention to, did come up in the reactions, too.

Credit to @witchofthewords for summing it all up nicely. This is how common decency works.
