It's a shame so many kids today don't get to take shop classes in school. There's joy in sawdust. Just the process of sawing through wood, joining two pieces together, and carefully sanding it down is rewarding. And when you have the finished piece in your hands, you know you've accomplished something, and you have a physical reminder of that.
And if you have a knack for it and stick with it, you can make some extraordinary things. Just look at what's come out of Parks and Rec star Nick Offerman's wood shop. As if being a talented funnyman wasn't enough, he's also an accomplished woodworker.
