In November of 2020, Meghan revealed that she'd suffered a miscarriage this past July, detailing the heartache in a public essay.

It's not clear how far along in the pregnancy Meghan is.

But a spokesperson did confirm the happy news to BuzzFeed News, saying, "We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

The newest addition to the family will be eighth in line to the throne.

Even though Meghan and Harry made the decision to step back from the royal family, Queen Elizabeth II has not changed the line of succession, and their second child will follow Archie, who is seventh in line.

The couple's friend, Misan Harriman, shared a photo of the exciting announcement.

"Meg, I was there at your wedding to witness this love story begin, and my friend, I am honoured to capture it grow. Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!" they shared.

Congratulations to the growing family have already starting rolling in from around the world.

Regardless of how you feel about the royal couple, a new baby is always something to be excited about!

It's clear that everyone is so excited for the couple to welcome their rainbow baby.

A rainbow baby "is a baby born after a miscarriage, stillborn, or neonatal death. It is called a rainbow baby because it is like a rainbow after a storm: something beautiful after something scary and dark," Jennifer Kulp-Makarov, M.D., FACOG, explained to Parents.com.

Fans pointed out that Princess Diana announced her pregnancy with Prince Harry on Valentine's Day.

So the timing here couldn't be more perfect.

Congrats to Meghan and Harry!
