TikTok Users React To 'Aggressive' Wedding Cake Smash Video

Weddings have certain traditions that couples do for the ceremony and the party afterward. One of those is the cake cutting. I, myself, plan on doing that with my fiancé at our wedding.

Then there are other takes on this fun activity like the "cake smash." However, after one groom took that to the next level in a recent TikTok video that went viral, people can't seem to stop talking about it.

A TikTok user named Kelsey Carson, who goes by the handle @kelsboyd3, recently got married to her sweetheart.

She then posted a short video from their wedding day showing their version of the "cake smash" that didn't exactly go according to plan.

See, a typical cake smash goes like this.

The couple cuts a piece of the wedding cake and lovingly smears a little bit of it on each other's faces. It's all cute and fun. That's what Kelsey did, albeit she was a bit rough with the cake and her groom, ha, ha!

Now, when it came time for her new husband to do the same, he did the unimaginable.

He actually grabbed almost the entire three-tiered cake and threw it right in his bride's face. It was so forceful that the bride herself nearly toppled down.

OMG, say what? Yes, that's right.

The entire cake ended up hitting the bride as it fell onto the floor. There goes hundreds of dollars down the drain. Am I right? I can't believe he actually did that, huh?

When people on TikTok saw that, they pretty much went ballistic with their comments.

Right now, the video is up to over 3 million views. In fact, it got so many responses, many of which were pretty negative, the bride had to turn off commenting altogether.

It seems that some folks out there think they're marriage counselors all of a sudden.

Comments posted ranged from calling the incident a "red flag" to some even suggesting that Kelsey and her groom are headed down the road to divorce.

The poor girl got so much flak for what her husband did that she ended up deleting all the comments after all.

She even had to resort to defending him online. But she did it in a pretty classy way by just updating her TikTok bio to say, "A CAKE never hurt anyone," ha, ha!

There were a few people who came to her defense.

Before she deleted the comments, you could read things that pointed out that both of them were laughing during the entire incident. Kelsey even posted smiling pictures of both herself and her groom with cake on their faces.

See, here's the thing: I can see how some people may have reacted badly to the video.

After all, if my fiancé did that during our reception, I would be royally pissed off. And I would feel quite embarrassed, too.

However, my fiancé actually knows better than to do something as silly and stupid as that, ha, ha!

If he didn't, I wouldn't have agreed to marry him. Are you catching my drift here?

But let me throw this idea at you.

What if the whole thing got staged? What if they had another cake that they used for everybody to eat afterward? What do you think about that? Maybe this video was just for the "shock" value?

Well, I guess we'll never know for sure unless we hear from somebody who was actually present at this wedding.

All we can talk about is what we see here. And that's what people are clearly doing. Are you with me?

On the other hand, chances are this couple is just silly like that.

Perhaps they're known to pull pranks on each other all the time. I wouldn't put it past these two judging from this one video, ha, ha! Do you agree with me?

So what's your take on the whole viral TikTok video?

Do you think it was humorous and pretty harmless? Would you get mad if your husband did that on your wedding day? The only thing I can say is that at least both of them seemed amused by this "cake smash."
