The 'Barbie' Foot Tattoo Trend Has People Bringing Out Their Inner Doll

Back in the day, Barbie used to sport a secret on the bottom of her foot: the word "Japan" was stamped on it, indicating the place where she was manufactured.

People loved her little sole "tattoo." Much like Andy writing on Woody's boot in Toy Story, people have begun tattooing the bottoms of their feet!

These people are strong as hell.

Guys, I wouldn't get five seconds into this before breaking out into uncontrollable giggles. Having the bottom of your foot tattooed must be one of the weirdest, oddly painful/pleasant feelings.

Some people get VERY intricate with theirs.

According to @tripdnice503's caption, the ink can actually stay on there for life. It'll take maintenance and touch-ups, for sure, but you can make that ink last if you really want it to!

One of the most popular styles is the Barbie style.

"Made in" tattoos are massively popular for the bottom of your fit, which is in line with Barbie's little mark! I think this is a lovely way to pay tribute to your home country.

Hide your cartoon faves on your feet!

Show (or don't show) the world your love of Mario and Popeye with some cartoon sole tattoos! I have to say, the artist did a great job with the perspective on both tattoos.

Keep it delicate.

This minimalist flower was done with the hand poke method, which requires patience on both the artist and customer's part. Again, I could not handle being tickled that much, so I respect the person who can so much.

Some people opt for their toes.

This one was captioned "sneaky luck." This is such a great way to have a tattoo, yet hide it from your employer or others you don't want to see it.

Others opt for a classic tattoo, but in a not-so-classic place.

Coordinates is a pretty classic choice for a tattoo, but I honestly can't say I've ever seen them done on the bottom of a foot! The matching world map is a really nice touch.

Some opt to use different ink colors.

This one is SO cool. I love the use of white ink to give this tattoo some extra meaning. The contrast is gorgeous, but I'm not too sure how long that white would last.

This one is for the "Toy Story" fans.

I can't believe someone actually went ahead and got the classic "Andy" tattoo on their foot. If you're a Pixar fan, this might be the perfect design for you.

Or, pick the name of your choice.

With this design, it's literally a case of (insert name here). Pick a name that's meaningful to you, or go ahead and tattoo your own name.

This tattoo seems to sum the whole trend up.

I mean, why not? It's your foot, and it's your money. Why not have some fun and get yourself a tattoo only you know about? Go for it, my fellow tattoo addicts.
