Dog Is So Determined To Keep Eyes On Mom, She'll Literally Bend Her Neck Backwards

You think your dog has attachment issues? This 9-month-old Finnish spitz refuses to let her mom be out of her sight, even if just for a second.

She's so adamant about keeping her favorite human in her eye line that she will go to great lengths to make sure of it, even if that means turning her neck into putty and throwing her head back like she's about to pull off a gold medal gymnastics routine at the Olympics.

Kiko's mom, Ashleigh Macpherson, said the dog's bizarre head-craning all began when she was just a wee pup.

“She has always done it since she was a small puppy,” she told The Dodo. “At the time, I just thought she was one of those dogs who liked to sleep ‘broken.’”

Of course, you can only make so many excuses for your bizarrely-bendable dog when they start doing it all the time, just like Kiko did.

At first, Kiko was simply trying to look backwards at her two dog siblings, Kaya and Tofu.

But as she grew closer to Macpherson and their dog-owner bond truly developed, Kiko began to keep an eye out for her momma, even when her body happened to be facing the other way.

“When I first saw her bend her head back to look at me, I was quite surprised but at the same time, I thought it was cute,” Macpherson said. “I thought, ‘She must really want to keep her focus on me.’ And that she must love me so much that she doesn't want to take her eyes off me.”

Now that she's nearly a year old, Kiko has become a pro at performing her little Exorcist-inspired trick.

In fact, all Macpherson has to do is say the command "demon!" and Kiko's head snaps right back.

And you thought your dog was clever for learning "shake a paw." Let's see them turn their head 180 degrees, then we'll talk.

Suffice it to say, Kiko is definitely a lil' weirdo, but her momma wouldn't want her any other way.

“She is extremely sweet and loving," Macpherson told The Dodo. "She loves cuddles and always wants to be by my side."
