While it seems like 2021 is just 2020 dressed up in fake mustache, it hasn't been ALL bad news so far, has it? Hold on while I just check my notes.... Oh, interesting. As it turns out, it has been all bad news, but luckily for you all, I come bearing GOOD news!
As it turns out, buying a streaming service subscription might not be a bad idea when it comes with all five seasons of The Muppet Show!
So many young people don't even have cable anymore! They just Netflix and YouTube everything. It's hard to keep track of just how many streaming services there are out there, and I can't imagine they could be any cheaper than good ol' cable.
As it turns out, the entire The Muppets Show collection is coming to Disney+ next month!
All five seasons of the beloved TV series will make it onto the platform, including seasons 4 and 5, which will be available to stream for the very first time!
The show was notable for mixing its family-friendly Muppet characters with famous celebrity guest hosts like Steve Martin, Liza Minnelli, Julie Andrews, Alice Cooper, and Diana Ross.
It was truly fun for the whole family, a concept that seems to be lost on TV shows these days.
"It’s going to be great to welcome back longtime fans, and to give a new generation of fans a chance to see how we got our start, how Miss Piggy became a star and so much more," he said in a press release, according to Variety.
"Today, I’m proud to say: 'It’s time to play the music, light the lights and meet the Muppets on Disney Plus tonight'’ And as for Statler and Waldorf, the two old guys in the balcony, I can only add: 'Sorry, guys, but….here we go again.'"
That gives me plenty of time to dust off my old dance moves and remember the lyrics to the The Muppet Show theme song!
