10+ Celebrities Who Aren't Afraid To Get Political

Celebrities have always used their voices to advocate change. Not all choose to make their affiliations known, but there are plenty who don't shy away from taking full advantage of their elevated platform.

That's why I've compiled 10+ celebrities who aren't afraid to get political. Hopefully, through their example, we can continue to spark conversation and help produce a more positive future together.

Tom Hanks.

Tom Hanks has had a firm foothold in the Democratic Party for years. During this most recent Presidential election, he decided to hit the campaign trails with now President-Elect, Joe Biden.

Tom headlined Joe's events and was a keynote speaker as well.

Kanye West.

Let's run the shortlist, shall we?

Kanye West once went on TMZ and said that slavery in America was a choice; he was pictured wearing a MAGA hat on multiple occasions, and oh yeah — he also ran for President, in case anyone forgot.

Reese Witherspoon.

For Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris' first public event after being named Joe Biden's running mate, Reese Witherspoon co-chaired the event.

She was joined by comedian/writer/producer Mindy Kaling, as well as Shonda Rhimes, Tory Burch, and Amy Griffin.

Conor McGregor.

Let it be known that Conor McGregor will say anything in front of a camera. He is a consummate marketing machine and is always looking for the next best angle to promote himself.

So whether or not he actually believes that Trump is the greatest President of all time is up for debate.

Tim Allen.

Tim has been openly conservative and a card-carrying Republican for his entire life. He was even invited to attend the inauguration of Donald Trump.

Tim also causes controversy when he compared being a conservative in Hollywood to the 1930's National Socialist Party of Germany.

Chris Evans.

Chris Evans has been making big waves in politics over the past few years. He's aligned himself with A Starting Point; a group dedicated to helping to advance political conversations in Hollywood and around the world.

Rumor has it that Chris might even run for office.

LeBron James.

Remember Donald Trump and LeBron's Twitter beef? The POTUS actually went so far as to insult King James' intelligence.

LeBron took it in stride and chose not to engage. Which is a shame, because it could have been the flame war of the century.

Joaquin Phoenix.

After accepting his Oscar Award for "Best Actor," Joaquin gave an impassioned speech about the importance of unity and commonality in the global fight against injustice.

He also made his feelings for the dairy industry crystal clear.

Leonardo DiCaprio.

Leo has been one of the leading activists in Hollywood for the past two decades. During the election, Leo made several videos pleading with his fans to get out and vote.

He urged them to make their voices heard.

Taylor Swift.

Taylor has made her ties to the Democratic Party known over and again. She's endorsed Democratic Senators, and even fired back at Donald Trump over Twitter!

She accused him of not doing enough to decry racial intolerance.

Emma Watson.

Emma has been a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN for more than 5 years. She's one of the most vocal advocates for Women's Rights at home and abroad.

Pictured beside her is writer/activist Rebecca Solnit.

Joe Rogan.

When it comes to having an intelligent conversation about politics, all opinions warrant consideration. Joe Rogan has featured guests all across the political spectrum; from Alex Jones to Bernie Sanders.

He may not always agree, but he always listens.

Angelina Jolie.

Angelina went from a Hollywood bad girl to a modern-day Mother Teresa. She has worked tirelessly to help provide aid to refugees all around the world.

She, like Emma Watson, is also a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations.

Arnold Schwarzenegger.

How could I not mention the Governator! As many of you will no doubt recall, Arnie was the Governor of California from 2003 until 2011.

His political ties and affiliations run deep and continue to this day.

Alec Baldwin.

NBC

Alec Baldwin went the full fifteen rounds with Donald Trump and came out on top. His hilarious portrayals of the President were a highlight of SNL for years.

Sadly, Alec has now officially retired the character. At least until 2024...
