New Study Suggests Drinking Hot Chocolate Can Actually Make You Smarter

Some people think that hot chocolate is just for kids, but maybe they should consider drinking more of it because a new study is suggesting that hot chocolate can actually make you smarter.

If hot cocoa makes you smarter, no one has to tell us twice to start drinking it all day, every day.

Who says research can't be delicious?

The University of Birmingham is basically our hero for gathering data that sorta kinda implies that people perform tasks better after drinking hot chocolate as opposed to those that don't.

Those participants who were given a steamy mug of chocolatey goodness performed cognitive tasks better than those who sadly tasted no cocoa during the study.

You're gonna want to grab your mug and take a sip.

As the study explains, cocoa beans contain flavanols that have the ability to temporarily increase the blood oxygen levels of the body.

The increased oxygen flow helps the brain think more clearly, and thus hot cocoa is basically the answer to all of the world's problems.

This study is too sweet to be true.

While this is a great finding, it should also be taken with a grain of salt. Only 18 people participated in the study, and all 18 were men.

It's not like our cocoa dreams have died, but more like it may not be advisable to keep our nonstop hot cocoa drinking plans in the books.

We're pretty sure that scientifically, hot cocoa is good for the soul.

While more data may be needed from future studies, it's undeniable that cocoa beans have some major vitamins that could be just what we need to get our brains going. And if not, we always have a cozy cup of hot chocolate.

Let us know what you think in the comments of the study about hot chocolate and if you may have found an excuse to drink even more.
