People Are Getting Wholesome Tattoos Of Their Dog's Paw Prints

Get ready to cry, and then call your tattoo artist: you're probably getting new ink.

There's no better way to remember our beloved pets than to immortalize them on our bodies. Whether they're still with us and we're celebrating how wonderfully weird they are, or they've passed and we'd like to honor them, paw print tattoos are absolutely adorable.

Some of the tattoos are hyper-realistic...

Like these incredibly detailed Frenchie paws! Man, what I would give to be petting a Frenchie right now. They're just so snuggly and cuddle-able, you know?

While others are more conceptual.

I absolutely LOVE the concept of adding some geometric flavor to paw print tattoos. There's a few more examples of that in here, but let's start with something small.

Some people add more paw prints as they add dogs to their family.

I love this idea! This tattoo started with the "S," but quickly grew as more furry friends entered the family. They're going to have to move onto the other leg soon!

Of course, the geometric trend had to get in on the paw print action.

For the record, this is one fo the coolest tattoos I've ever seen. The paw print just fits so nicely next to the crisp lines and dots of this tattoo.

Some of them are done as stipple tattoos.

Now that takes some real patience. This paw print is entirely done in dots and dashes, forming Charlie's adorable little paw. I love Charlie. I've never seen him, but I love him.

This gorgeous tattoo is a memorial to a gentle giant.

Memorial tattoos never fail to make me cry, you guys. This one is for a big dog that had a big heart. I love the little fur details around the paws.

This one has a sweet message behind it.

"I love you to the moon and back," @vampbodyart wrote on Instagram.

What a great idea for a tattoo, and with such a simple, clean execution!

If you need me, I'll be crying at this dog's art.

Look at him! He made that art with his paw! I love that his mom had such a creative idea for their tattoo. I would do this with my cat for sure.

PS the dog's name is Skunky. I could feel you wanting to know that.

Some people have their dog's face put inside the paw print.

Look at that cute little nose! Quite a few people have their pup put inside the print, which I really love. That way, you get to always see your best friend!

This pup had a sweet little birthmark!

Man, that is a cute paw. The artist perfectly captured the shape of both puppy birthmarks, and even the color of the fur! I am in awe of the talent here.

Okay, I had to include one cat.

I am a cat person, after all.

"When you love a cat, you speak a language of little sounds and gestures (It's a secret language, but you both know what it means). When you love a cat, you get her paw tattooed on your arm. Right?"

RIGHT.
