DIY Cookie Monster Tree Proves That 'C' Is For Christmas

What's the one thing we can all say we had in our childhoods? Sesame Street, of course!

Kids everywhere recognize the iconic song and characters from Sesame Street, including Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch, and the Cookie Monster, of course!

Well, one family took their love of Cookie Monster and decided to theme their Christmas tree around him. I think he would approve.

How cool is this tree?

Designed by Facebook user and crafting genius Aneesah Smart, this tree is DIY from head to...well, bucket.

Firstly, she took an artificial tree and painted it blue!

The decorations are all blue and cookie themed, too.

You can see how she used blue flocking to turn the tree into Cookie Monster!

She also added little chocolate chips to each ornament, which she also filled with glitter. This tree is totally DIY!

There are cookie ornaments, too!

And a cheeky bucket for storing even more cookies! I love the little stack of cookies that she added to the tree. Aneesah truly executed her vision perfectly!

Her boyfriend posted pictures of the tree to his Facebook.

And I think it's fair to say the post totally blew up. It quickly accumulated over 90,000+ shares and 10,000+ comments from people who absolutely adored how fun the tree is.

People absolutely loved it.

Aneesah got so many lovely comments praising her hard work. People actually wanted her to start teaching classes on how to make the tree, since it's way harder than it looks!

One of her friends came to mess with her.

The best friends are the ones that clown on you, tbh. But this teasing revealed something insane: this was Aneesah's second Sesame Street tree, not her first!

Check out Oscar!

Look at that beautiful trash monster! You can see how much Aneesah has changed as an artist — for Cookie Monster, she made her own eyes, rather than using pre-made ones! This is so cool to see.

She's nowhere near done, either.

She teamed up with her friend, Ebony McCarthan-Pack, to create a Dr. Suess-inspired tree! The two filled ornaments, cut out letters, and of course, painted the tree red!

So, what themed tree would YOU go for?

I would want a Moana-themed tree, with ocean waves, and little Maui ornaments all around it!

Oh, and by the way: you can follow along with Aneesah's work on her Facebook!
