Fans Just Realized That Ralphie From 'A Christmas Story' Is Also In 'Elf'

There are so many things about Christmas it's hard to choose just one to love the most. Is it the presents? Is it cuddling up under a fire? Is it everyone's individual Christmas traditions playing out year after year? Is it the music?

I think all of those things have their moments, but to me, the best part of the Christmas season is definitely the Christmas movies.

Every year without fail we watch all of the Christmas classics.

Or at least as many as we can fit in! There's Christmas Vacation, Rudolph, Frosty the Snowman, Love Actually, A Christmas Story, A Wonderful Life, A Charlie Brown Christmas... The list just goes on and on!

Every year we get to watch these movies with new eyes, and every year we notice new details.

Maybe we notice something new about a character we've never considered before, or maybe we hear a new funny line that went over our heads as kids, or maybe, just maybe we realize that one beloved Christmas film shares an actor with another beloved Christmas film.

That last realization has happened for fans this year watching Elf.

Peter Billingsley, best known for his role as Ralphie in *A Christmas Story*, has a cameo!

Peter plays Ming the elf in the Will Ferrell classic, and fans (and me!) are just realizing that now!

It feels almost silly to not have realized it before now — after all, you'd think we'd recognize those big baby blues anywhere!

Twitter is alight with this news!

I'm going to be watching Elf tonight with a whole new appreciation for this role!
