Ellen DeGeneres Slammed For Asking Justin Bieber 'Intrusive' Questions About Having Kids

Nobody has really had a good 2020, but Ellen DeGeneres definitely has had a bad one.

Earlier this year, reports surfaced that Ellen treated employees of her shows unkindly and was overall not a very nice person. Ellen responded to those claims and promised to try to do better moving forward, but it seems that some people don't believe she's trying very hard.

Ellen DeGeneres has had a complicated year.

Over the summer, Buzzfeed published two interviews with former staff on The Ellen Show that highlighted an alleged "toxic" environment.

On top of that, some people began coming forward with examples of Ellen treating them unkindly.

A tweet thread went viral asking people to detail their own stories of Ellen "being mean" that garnered thousands of replies alleging certain behaviors from Ellen.

Others began pointing out behaviors of hers they felt were mean on her show.

Some fans pointed out that Ellen could be rude to her guests.

One instance people referred to was her repeated "mocking" of Sofia Vergara's accent, although Sofia has since responded that she was "in on the joke."

Fans also pointed out an incident with Mariah Carey on the show.

During the show, Ellen asked Mariah about pregnancy rumors, before bringing out champagne as a "toast" to not being pregnant, attempting to get Mariah to admit she was pregnant by not taking a drink.

Mariah Carey later spoke out about this, as she had suffered a miscarriage and hadn't wanted the pregnancy to be public in the first place.

Ellen has once again drawn backlash for asking a guest about family planning.

Musician Justin Bieber recently made an appearance on *The Ellen Degeneres Show*.

During a discussion about his tattoos, Justin mentioned that he was saving space on his back for tattoos dedicated to his future children. Ellen then asked, "How many kids are you going to have and when?"

"I'm going to have as many as Hailey is wishing to push out," Justin responded.

"I’d love to have myself a little tribe. But, yeah, it's her body and whatever she wants to do," Justin replied.

However, Ellen wasn't done with the line of questioning, and continued to push Justin for a more concrete answer. "What are you all waiting for? You know you love kids. You’re so good with kids. What’s the holdup?" she asked, while Justin explained that Hailey wasn't ready yet.

Fans argued that it was none of Ellen's (or our) business.

After all, deciding when to have kids or if to have kids at all is a huge step, and a very personal one for every couple, and they should be allowed to have the space to decide on their own terms!

Others pointed out how common infertility struggles were.

"Ellen needs to chill before she gets in trouble again..." one fan responded.

There are a lot of reasons a couple won't have kids at any given time!

Fans were not pleased that Ellen had continued pressing the subject of family planning when it can be a sensitive issue.

"Wow. Even if you think it's funny, it's not. What if they had been trying and didn't want to talk about it? Can we stop asking families when they're going to have kids?" tweeted one fan.

Others were reminded of the incident with Mariah Carey.

Many people pointed out the similarities between this interview and Mariah Carey being put on the spot when it came to news about potential family planning.
