Hap-Hap-Happy Christmas! 'National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation' Turns 31

It's Christmas, and we're all in misery!

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is one of the few modern-day classic Christmas movies, and it really does not ever get old, no matter how many times you watch it. It's just not Christmas until the Griswold's get up to their usual shenanigans, and it turns out they've been doing that for 31 years!

*Christmas Vacation* is a masterpiece.

The movie has everything — talented cast, hilarious script, enough heart to bring it all together, and some great music.

It also gave us some pretty great inspiration for Christmas lights.

The movie was released on December 1st, 1981.

That means this iconic movie turns 31 years old this year, which is longer than most of our children have been alive!

It's impressive that a movie that came out three decades ago still feels fresh and funny!

Obviously, this is a good reason to celebrate.

Not that I needed an excuse now that it's officially December to grab a big blanket, make some hot chocolate, and cozy up to watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, but I'll take one if I get one!

It's the perfect way to spend the day!

In honor of the film's 31st anniversary, share with us your favorite gag from the movie! For me, it has to be when Clark says it's "nipply" out instead of nippy out — this one has worked its way into my wintertime vocabulary!
