10+ Times Celebrities Made Headlines For The Wrong Reasons

Celebs make headlines for all different reasons.

Sometimes, it's happy, like when they announce the arrival of their new children. Other times, it's hilarious, like when we learn about one of Ryan Reynold's troll wars.

But most of the time, headlines are made from celebs doing things that cross the line. This ranges from the bad to the very, very bad.

Here are 10+ times celebs made headlines for the wrong reasons.

1. When Winona Ryder was arrested for shoplifting.

In 2001, the actress stole $5,560 of items from Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills.

The incident has stayed with her since then and even stalled her career for a long time before she worked on Stranger Things.

2. When Jussie Smollet lied about being attacked.

The world had so much sympathy for the actor when he told Chicago police that he had been attacked by two men who put a noose around his neck and yelled racist and anti-gay remarks.

But just a month later, the actor was arrested for giving the police false information.

He's been slapped with a lot of charges since then, including six felony counts of disorderly conduct.

While the attack is labeled as a hoax, Jussie maintains his innocence.

3. When Roseanne Barr wrote a racist tweet about Valerie Jarrett, Barack Obama’s former White House advisor.

Her now-deleted insensitive tweet had said: "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = vj."

As a result, the sitcom Roseanne was canceled.

4. When Jennifer Grey's nose job made her unrecognizable.

When someone gets plastic surgery, it usually enhances their life and career.

But that wasn't the case for the Dirty Dancing star whose surgery has been considered one of the biggest plastic surgery fails.

“I went into the operating room a celebrity and came out anonymous,” she told *Mirror U.K.*

“It was the nose job from hell. I’ll always be this once-famous actress nobody recognzes because of a nose job," she said.

5. When Stacey Dash said that transgender people should use bushes for bathrooms.

In addition to this, the Clueless actress asserted that being transgender is a lifestyle choice.

She was soon slammed because of her controversial beliefs.

6. When Ryan Lochte lied about being robbed.

The Olympic swimmer went from the Golden Boy of America to one of the most-controversial in 2016.

This was after he claimed that he and his teammates were robbed at gunpoint one night in Rio de Janeiro.

Shortly after, the truth came out: he had been intoxicated and vandalized a gas station.

"I over-exaggerated that story and if I had never done that we wouldn't be in this mess," Ryan said in an interview with NBC

8. When Mel Gibson was caught on tape making anti-semitic remarks.

This happened in 2006 when he was arrested for an alleged DUI in 2006.

He told the officer, "The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world," as well as asking one officer, "Are you a Jew?"

9. When Kendall Jenner starred in a tone-deaf Pepsi commercial.

We're still face-palming over this one.

The model played the part of someone "ending" a protest by handing a police officer a can of Pepsi. Given the history of police brutality, this wasn't well-received.

10. When Lori Loughlin was involved in the college admissions scandal.

The Full House actress and her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, were accused of paying $500,000 to fake athletic rowing credentials for their daughter, Olivia.

This was so she could get into a top-tier college.

After the FBI completed a thorough investigation, the actress became one of the parents ordered to serve jail time.

She was ordered to spend two months in prison, while actress Felicity Huffman spent 14 days.

11. When T.I. made inappropriate comments about his daughter.

The rapper unleashed a new level of WTF when he said that he checks his 18-year-old daughter's hymen annually at the gynecologist.

This is to make sure she hasn't had sex.

"So I say, ‘Look, Doc, she don’t ride no horses, she don’t ride no bike, she don’t play no sports," he shared on the *Ladies Like Us* podcast.

"Just check the hymen, please, and give me back my results expeditiously,'" he shared.

Not surprisingly, T.I.'s comments were met with tons of backlash online.

12. When Alec Baldwin was recorded calling his daughter a pig.

The 30 Rock actor seriously lost his cool when his daughter, Ireland, missed his scheduled call.

Even worse, Ireland was only 11 at the time of his angry voicemail.

13. When Justin Bieber made headlines for peeing in a bucket.

Yes, really.

In 2013, there was footage released of him "relieving" himself.

Thing is, it wasn't in the toilet or the bushes; it was in a bucket near an NYC restaurant's food preparation area.

14. When Katy Perry ranked her exes.

The phrase "don't kiss and tell" exists for a reason. Fans thought that it was in poor taste for the signer to rank her exes from first to last in bed.

This came during her 72-hour YouTube livestream to promote her new album "Witness."

She ended up ranking John Mayer first, Orlando Bloom second, and Diplo third.

Given the fact that Perry is currently engaged to Bloom, this is awkward.
