10+ Things Jennifer Aniston Does To Keep Herself Healthy At 52

Brad Pitt may have starred in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, but it's Jennifer Aniston who's aging in reverse.

The actress looks so good for 52. She's radiant, always glowing, and in such good shape. This makes us wonder: What are her secrets?

Here, learn the 10+ things Jen does to keep herself healthy at 52.

1. She works out seven days per week.

Yep, Jen puts in the #werk to look as good as she does at 52.

Her personal trainer, Leyon Azubuike, told Women's Health that she trains for an hour and a half per session.

2. She drinks a ton of water.

As the former face of SmartWater, this makes sense. The Friends star guzzles down 100 ounces of water per day, according to Shape.

That's a lot of trips to the bathroom, but it's clearly worth it.

3. She's obsessed with yoga.

She's been a devotee to the practice since 2005, and even credits it for "keeping her limbs lean."

Whenever she's looking to lose some weight, she will even add in a cardio component to the exercise.

4. She uses an infrared sauna.

In case you don't know what that is, it's a sauna that uses light to create heat instead of warming the air around you.

Jen has one in her own home! She used to use it with Justin Theroux back when they were married.

5. She wakes up early to work out.

With a schedule as chaotic as hers, she doesn't have the luxury of working whenever she'd like. This is why she will sometimes work out before 3 am (!!!).

"She has to respond when I say go," Azubuike told WH.

6. She takes rest when she needs to.

As a big advocate of listening to your body, Jen takes breaks to avoid burning out and injuring herself.

"I went from being a crazy workout girl to sort of saying, 'My body wants a little bit of a break,'" Jen told Women's Health.

That's not to say that she goes completely cold turkey on fitness during this time, though.

She will do "more simple stuff" instead, like going on walks. "I started to enjoy life a little bit more," she said.

7. She changes up her workout routine.

Jen may be a creature of habit when it comes to her skincare — I mean, she's been using the same Aveeno moisturizer since she was a teen — but the same can't be said for her workouts.

8. She likes to box (that's her current favorite), do jump rope, use resistance bands, and do strength training.

A lot of results come from this.

Her trainer told WH that this is key to ensuring she's "consistently being challenged."

9. She works hard on her abs.

If you've ever seen the star in a bikini, you'd know that those abs are insane. To get them, she's all about training the core in her workouts.

She can even hold a two-or three-minute plank!

In addition to this, she likes to do what's called a "plank flow."

This starts with the standard plank, then she and her trainer move into a side plank. From there, she does a plank with shoulder taps.

We're tired just reading about it!

10. She eats a healthy, balanced diet.

Copying Jen's diet is easier than you'd think. She follows a low-carb, high protein, gluten-free diet six days per week.

Her breakfast typically looks like oatmeal whipped with egg whites and a smoothie, or puffed cereal and a banana, according to Brit + Co.

For lunch and dinner, she often has a salad with some sort of protein and lots of vegetables.

When it comes to snacks during the day, her go-to is a delicious one: an apple with almond butter.

11. She lightens up her favorite foods.

Since the star isn't willing to give up beloved foods, she's clever with her recipes.

"It's just an egg, parmesan cheese, and a little pasta water," she told Elle in 2016 about her pasta carbonara. "And we substitute turkey bacon for real bacon, so, you know."

12. She takes really good care of her skin.

After 52 years, she's practically got anti-aging down to a science.

According to the star, her top anti-aging secrets are "water, sleep, and sunscreen." And, as a spokesperson for Aveeno, she also always lathers on moisturizer.

13. She's religious about applying sunscreen.

This comes from some major sunburn regrets.

"When I was younger, I would slather myself in baby oil and do everything in my power to get a burn. I was just completely uneducated," she told InStyle. These days, she wears SPF every day.

14. She practices intermittent fasting.

This makes her just one of the many celebs who practice this cycle of eating (Kate Hudson is another).

"I noticed a big difference in going without solid food for 16 hours," she said in an interview with Radio Times.

15. She's big on self-care.

Since mental health is just as important as physical health, she's always down for some "me time."

She told People that her version of this looks like meditating in the morning, exercise, and walking her dogs.

She'll even give herself at-home spa days.

"On Sundays, I usually do carve out a little afternoon mini spa day for me, where I give myself a good scrub and a nice mask," she told People.

"Sunday is usually my day to kind of indulge by putting on some nice music and giving myself some love."

16. She takes collagen.

Just this past week, Jen was announced as the new Chief Creative Officer of Vital Proteins.

This partnership comes from Jen's serious love of collagen, which is one of the building blocks to healthy hair, skin, and nails.

17. She meditates daily.

Jen is all about limiting stress and taking control of her own reality and perception. Whenever possible, she starts her day with a morning meditation routine.

It helps the stress just fall off of her and slowly fade away.

18. She works hard on building core strength.

When it comes to fitness, you have to be able to see the forest and not just the trees. Otherwise, you're going to get yourself into a rut and burn out fast.

A strong core facilitates every aspect of physical fitness.

19. She understands the importance of nutrient-rich foods.

I'm sure that everyone has heard the phrase "Work smarter, not harder" at least once in their lifetime.

Jen focuses on understanding the science of food, using her diet and food intake to her advantage

20. She gets her seven hours of sleep!

Yes, Jen isn't averse to 3:00 AM workouts while she's filming, but that isn't her normal routine. When left to her own devices, Jen usually starts her day no earlier than 9 am.

21. She doesn't hold onto hate.

Holding onto a grudge is like carrying around poison in your soul, a fact Jen understands all too well.

She's been in some incredibly high profile relationships over the years but remains good friends with each and every one of her exes.

22. She knows the power of puppy love.

Oh my freaking god, would you look at that face?! If you need to receive love and you also have a lot to give, get yourself a fur baby.

Trust me, you'll be happy that you did.

23. She freezes fruit and eats it on the go.

Snacking is the death of dieting, a fact I have learned all too well. In order to avoid temptation when she's out and about, Jen likes to eat frozen fruit as a quick pick-me-up.

According to Jen, she discovered this technique while at a beauty spa.

After Jen finished enjoying a mud bath soak, the staff brought her a bowl of chilled red grapes. When asked what it was about frozen grapes she enjoyed so much, Jen told Insider that "They give you that frozen crunch."
