Being the great storyteller he is, George set the scene — he told the publication he was appearing in Gravity, the space thriller co-starring Sandra Bullock.
The film wasn't expected to be a hit when it was released in 2013, so instead of a salary, he revealed he was given "percentages of the movie."
Since the actor wasn't married (or a dad) at the time, he opted to give the money away to some of his closest friends.
"And I thought, you know, without them I don't have any of this," he explained.
He revealed he literally got PALLETS of cash to hand to his friends.
"And I just held up a map and I just pointed to all the places I got to go in the world and all the things I've gotten to see because of them."
No, how do I get friends like THAT?! Just kidding I love my friends, but truly, he is such a GEM!
