Fans Are Angry After Blake Shelton 'Disrespects' Gwen Stefani At People's Choice Awards

There's no denying the people love the musical power couple of Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. The pair have been together for five years and just recently got engaged!

While most Gwen fans are supportive of the pairing, others aren't too impressed. This became clear on Sunday night when the 44-year-old poked fun at his fiancée while accepting his People's Choice Award.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are one of the more surprising couples in Hollywood. The punk-rock princess has been dating the country music king since 2015.

Fans are obsessed with the pair and were over the moon when the couple announced their engagement last month!

Sharing an adorable engagement pic, Blake captioned the post: "Hey @gwenstefani thanks for saving my 2020... And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!"

Since both celebs went through very public divorces, fans were so happy to see them both happy!

Gwen and Blake have shown nothing but support and love to one another, with Gwen even waiting in the car on Sunday night while Blake accepted his People's Choice Award!

"Date night with Blake Shelton. So basically, I have to stay in the car because of COVID but I’m here to support Blake in case he wins," Gwen explained to fans.

However, drama has been started on social media on Sunday night after Blake accepted the People's Choice Award for Top Country Artist.

"Wow. This is crazy. This is absolutely insane," Shelton said. "I'm so happy that we're able to have this award show in spite of everything," the 44-year-old began.

He continued: "Thank you to my new fiancée, Gwen Stefani. That's S-t-e-f-a-n-i, if you need to Google it to figure out who she is," he laughed.

He concluded: "Thanks for the inspiration and I love you guys, thank you."

While some fans loved the joke, others thought it was in poor taste.

"Dude, most people know her more than you," commented one Gwen fan. "I don't like it when he disrespects her," agreed another.

"Please! Google who Gwen Stefani is? I know her songs and accomplishments. I need to google you," remarked another.

People felt it was rude for Blake to insinuate that people wouldn't know who his fiancée is.

"as if she isn't more famous than him lmao," commented @selvaoops.

"I think we know who she is," agreed @ka_tie316.

Instagram user @riverocandy was not afraid to voice their opinion: "Ehh [you're] wrong mister... lot of people know Gwen Stefani... the real question is who the hell are you?"

"Your sarcasm is so poor and it's a shame that you use this for some attention, nobody cares about you ok, are we clear?"

Blake took matters into his own hands Sunday night by reading some of the hate comments on Gwen's Instagram live.

"People are so stupid, and born without a sense of humor anymore," said Blake.

"Did people lose their sense of humor in the last year? If you don't like it, shut the [expletive] up," he continued.

Gwen quickly shut down the live after Blake cursed, lol. Thankfully for the pair, many fans were supportive of them and understood Blake's sense of humor.

"Please search for the positive tweets you have far more fans that love you and that’s the attention you should be enjoying," tweeted @BBohaty.

You know what I think we really should be focusing on here? The first close-up look of Gwen's ROCK:

What do you think of Blake's joke? Disrespectful, or all in good fun?
