It's always hard to hear when an actor we love or someone we think has done a good job with a role suddenly exits the project, but some fans would rather not accept that outcome, especially when it comes to Johnny Depp in his role in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

However, after the results from a recent court case pertaining to the allegations of domestic violence between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife, Amber Heard, Johnny announced on his Instagram page that he would be resigning from the third film in the series.
"I have been humbled and moved by your many messages of love and concern, particularly over the last few days," he said. "Secondly, I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request."
Fans have now started a petition to have Johnny return to the series.
"Johnny Depp was asked by Warner Bros to resign and leave his role of Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts 3 movie. This happened because of the verdict of his case with "The Sun" tabloid that was completely unfair. We want him back! Warner Bros should listen to the public or we will boycott the movie!!!" reads the petition's description.
It's clear this is something a lot of fans feel very passionate about!
