10+ Completely Random Facts About 'The Big Bang Theory' Cast Fans Didn't Know

There are only a few things that are getting us through the fact that The Big Bang Theory is still over: reruns, saying "Bazinga" under our breath 100 times a day, and eating copious amounts of take-out just like the characters.

Thankfully, there is also the cast to keep up with, starting with these 10+ completely random facts about them!

1. Since Jim Parsons' audition was so good, the creators thought that it was a fluke.

Chuck Lorre, producer and writer of the show, made him audition twice to ensure he was the real deal.

He was.

2. Kaley Cuoco once played young Ellen DeGeneres on the sitcom *Ellen*.

ABC

If you watched the show back then, you might not have recognized her, but Cuoco played the role of a young Ellen during a 1996 episode of the sitcom!

3. The show made some of its stars *super* rich.

In 2018, Jim Parsons became the highest-paid TV actor with $26.5 million.

Johnny Galecki wasn't too far behind in the second spot with $25 million, according to Forbes.

4. Kunal Nayyar was relatively unknown before the show.

While he was born in London, he actually grew up in New Delhi, India.

Later, he would move to the States to pursue education and acting. As you can see, it definitely worked out.

In case you're wondering, yes his Indian accent is real.

He even wrote about it in his book, titled Yes, My Accent is Real.

He took a page from Mindy Kaling's memoir, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? Both are absolutely hilarious.

5. Johnny Galecki was a child actor.

When you first met Leonard, there was a good chance the actor was already familiar to you.

His first role was a TV appearance on the CBS miniseries, Murdered Ordained. From there, he was on popular shows like Roseanne and Blossom.

6. Jim Parsons is the reason the show ended.

CBS

Production designer John Shaffner told Metro, "Warner Bros and CBS wanted to sign for about two more years."

But since Parsons didn't want to come back, they pulled the plug.

7. Johnny Galecki and Mayim Bialik once shared a kiss together.

Nope, it wasn't on The Big Bang Theory. It was when they both starred on the '90s sitcom, Blossom.

"It might have been my first real-life kiss also," Bialik admitted on Conan.

8. All of the cast got to bring home a souvenir from the show.

Since Warner Bros. had a strict rule on their props (and even put microchips in them!), set designer Ann Shear came up with a clever idea.

She made hundreds of replica door numbers to give to the cast and crew

She has her PhD in it!

She actually got into the habit of reading over the scripts to make sure they were scientifically accurate! What a power move.

10. Kaley Cuoco almost lost her foot from a 2010 horse accident.

After falling off her horse, her leg was trampled.

"All the bones were sticking out," she said during an appearance on The Ellen Show in 2010.

Yes, she doesn't actually sound like that (phew). But it's very believable!

12. Kaley Cuoco was in a lot of commercials from a young age.

Like Penny, Kaley always wanted to be an actress.

She played Barbie when she was just five years old and she also did a commercial for Oscar Mayer. We all have to start somewhere!

12. Simon Helberg almost turned down the role of Howard.

He told CinemaBlend that he was working on a show called Studio 60 when he got the call about The Big Bang Theory.

The only problem was, he was tired of playing nerds.

"Pretty soon I'll be a distinguished gray, and that's pretty hot. So I'll pass on the nerd show,'" he thought.

Thankfully, he changed his mind.

"And then I just got convinced to go in, and then I think I made the good choice."

13. Mayim Bialik suffered a hand injury while filming Season Six.

She was in a car accident that left her with a big bandage for a while.

To cover it up, the producers had to get creative in order to allow her to keep filming.

CBS

Kaley lent her voice for the December 12, 2019 episode, entitled "Teenager Soup and a Little Ball of Fib."

She played the pool water that talks back to a frightened Sheldon.

Series co-creator, Steve Molaro, confirmed this to TVLine.

“That was absolutely the voice of Kaley as pool water. I needed someone to do the voice. I knew I wanted it to be female and kinda sexy, and I said, ‘Well, duh! Kaley is perfect for this.'”

15. It took hours to remove the blue Smurf makeup from Melissa Raunch.

They had to use hot towels to remove it.

"It was getting late and I'm starting to fall asleep … and I lifted my legs up to get the rest of the makeup off and heard the guy laugh and thought, 'Oh, they're just telling jokes' and I looked in the mirror and thought, 'What's that?! Dear lord Jesus, that's my business!' I had totally exposed myself!"
