Florist Surprises Hospital Staff With Bouquets Of Flowers On Their Cars

With the world being the seemingly bottomless pit of misery it is right now, it's important that we take time to put a spotlight on the people who are doing what they can to help make things just a little brighter for the rest of us. And this story is a perfect example of good people who are doing good things.

As Bored Panda reported, Murielle Marcenac, a florist in Perpignan, France, recently surprised staff at a local hospital by placing hundreds of beautiful bouquets on their cars as a way of giving back to these essential workers.

Murielle's flower business, Marcenac Fleurs, has taken a serious hit during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Things have become so bad, in fact, that she's recently been forced to close down her beloved shop altogether, leaving her with hundreds of unsold flowers she would sadly be forced to throw away.

But rather than simply tossing the beautiful arrangements, Murielle came up with a much better, more wholesome solution.

“I had to make a decision, and I didn’t want to waste the flowers," she told Huffpost, as per Bored Panda. "Instead of crying, I told myself that we had to make people smile, especially at times like these."

Gathering up the flowers, Murielle headed to the Perpignan hospital where she left hundreds of healthcare workers a wonderful surprise.

A bouquet of flowers was placed atop every car in the parking lot so their owners would come out at the end of the day to find the wholesome display waiting for them.

“They thank me for my support and my approach because at the moment it’s complicated," Murielle said. "They need it, we have to support each other at times like these and not get angry."

And she didn't just stop with staff at the Perpignan hospital, either.

With some help from her family, Murielle has continued to leave the unsold flowers on healthcare workers' cars all over town, flooding parking lots with the beautiful arrangements that would have otherwise ended up in the trash.

The florist said she has no plans of stopping anytime soon, and will continue to spread kindness (and flowers) to essential workers until she's sufficiently run out.
