Texas Event Canceled After Caravan Of Trump Supporters Harass Biden Campaign Bus

Election Day is only days away now and while both campaigns are scrambling to fit in as many more events as possible, tensions continue to mount between the two sides.

On Friday, October 30, one incident involving a caravan of Trump supporters forced a Biden campaign event to be canceled, The Texas Tribune reported.

The Biden/Harris bus, along with a few support vehicles, was traveling from San Antonio to Austin when it was surrounded.

Dozens of vehicles waving Trump/Pence flags circled the bus, yelled at the occupants, and attempted to force it to a stop in the middle of Interstate 35.

Video evidence shows a black truck with a large Trump flag sideswipe an unmarked SUV in the next lane, but thankfully no one was hurt.

There is some controversy over who is at fault for the impact.

In other videos, the order of events is clearer.

The white SUV was behind the bus, but changed lanes and the truck pulled up closer. Then the SUV attempted to return to their original place, but was blocked by the truck and ended up straddling the lanes.

Regardless, it was the black truck that physically pushed the SUV out of the lane, damaging the vehicle and risking serious injuries.

Who knows what either was thinking, but the situation was tense and heightened. No one was driving safely, with very little space between vehicles and plenty of distraction from the wheel.

Contrary to some reports, Kamala Harris was not present on the bus, though she was also in Texas the same day for unrelated events.

Multiple sources have indicated that it was former state senator Wendy Davis and her crew aboard the bus. Davis is challenging Republican Rep. Chip Roy for his seat in the Texas' 21st Congressional District.

Many GOP members are insisting that the whole thing is "fake news," however many of the videos were shared by the very Trump supporters who were there.

When asked for comment, Texas GOP Chairman Allen West told The Texas Tribune, "It is more fake news and propaganda. Prepare to lose ... stop bothering me."

However, the claim of "fake news" is hard to believe when so many Trump supporters openly planned for the incident on Twitter.

They also shared plenty of videos of the event after the fact, promoting that they did intend to swarm the bus and "troll" the campaign.

Additionally, Trump himself tweeted praise for the actions of the #TrumpTrain caravan, angering many.

As for the Biden campaign, their Texas communications director, Tariq Thowfeek, told CNN:

"Rather than engage in productive conversation about the drastically different visions that Joe Biden and Donald Trump have for our country, Trump supporters in Texas today instead decided to put our staff, surrogates, supporters, and others in harm's way.

"Our supporters will continue to organize their communities for Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Democrats up and down the ballot, and to the Texans who disrupted our events today: We'll see you on November 3rd."
