Fans Celebrate On What Would Have Been Bob Ross' 78th Birthday

2020 has been a year of bad news after bad news. What, the pandemic wasn't enough for you? Devastating forest fires? Still no? How about murder hornets?

In a year full of enough bad stuff to make turning our homes into safety bunkers seem appealing, let's take some time to celebrate something actually wonderful ā€” Bob Ross' birthday!

Everyone knows and loves Bob Ross.

The legendary and celebrated painter who passed away in 1995 was the creator and host of The Joy Of Painting, a calming and lovely show that aimed to teach us that everyone can find a little peace through art, even those as hopelessly challenged at painting as us.

Bob was especially famous for his cheerful and positive attitude.

When someone told him they thought they couldn't paint because they were colorblind, Bob painted in grey for them. He only ever saw mistakes as happy accidents. Even after the loss of his wife, Bob continued to spread hope and love, saying, "You gotta have a little sadness once in a while, so you know when the good times are coming. Iā€™m waiting on the good times now.ā€

Bob was born on October 29th, 1942.

Fans took to social media to express their love for Bob on what would have been his 78th birthday, sharing how his positivity helped them.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOB ROSS!! forever grateful for your existence and inspiration. Thank you," shared a fan.

Happy birthday, Bob Ross! His legacy will live on forever.

We don't know about you, but we're thinking today might be a great day to break out the paint set and paint some happy little trees of our own to celebrate Bob's special day.
