Tyra Banks Apologizes For Awkward Moment On 'Dancing With The Stars'

Live television will always have its difficulties. Without the safety net of editing, unfortunately every mistake will make it to air — you can just ask Steve Harvey.

Tyra Banks has learned this the hard way after an unfortunate mess up during the live broadcast of Dancing With The Stars on October 5th.

Tyra Banks is new to the job of hosting *Dancing With The Stars*.

When it was announced this summer that in a surprising move, the show's longtime hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews were being let go, it was not received positively by many of the show's fans, which extended to the announcement that Tyra Banks would be taking over.

On Monday night's show, Tyra unfortunately made a mistake.

Tyra announced that couples Anne Heche and Keo Motsepe, along with Vernon Davis and Peta Murgatroyd, were in the bottom two, however she quickly stated that “there’s been an error."

Tyra then revealed that Monica Aldama and Val Chmerkovskiy were actually in the bottom rather than Vernon and Peta. “Please come back. Please have Monica come back,” Tyra called.

“This is live TV, right? This is the craziness of live TV!” Tyra explained at the time.

“Again, we apologize for this. This live TV, and we’re all human. It’s time for the judges’ verdict,” Tyra apologized before moving on with the show.

“There was a technical error as the votes and scores were tabulated. This was immediately rectified on-air. Measures will be taken to prevent this going forward," a rep explained.

Tyra herself made a tweet apologizing once more after the show.

Tyra has previously spoken out about the pressures of the show, saying in a video“Yeah, it wasn’t perfect. Yeah, I had a lot of fun but I messed up, I said the wrong words, but I kept, kept going.”

“Forgive yourself when you mess up and keep going,” she concluded.
