Michael Bublé's name may be synonymous with Christmas, but he's so much more than that.

He's been captivating audiences with his silky smooth voice ever since he was young.

He's also experienced his fair share of hardship, such as when his son was diagnosed with cancer.

1. His son battled cancer.

In November 2016, the singer's then-three-year-old son was diagnosed with liver cancer.

This was an extremely difficult time for the singer, who was public about the family's struggles and in asking for support.

"Hell seems like a really nice place to vacation compared to where we've been," he told Herald Sun in 2018.

Thankfully, Noah's cancer is currently in remission. He's now living life as a healthy and normal six-year-old.

This is definitely something that makes our hearts swell with joy.

2. He dated Emily Blunt.

He dated The Devil Wears Prada actress for three years before they called it quits in 2008.

While there were a lot of rumors that Michael cheated, he debunked that.

"It didn't end because of cheating. It ended because we weren't right for each other," he told *ET Canada*.

He continued: "And we are now exactly where we're supposed to be in our lives," he said.

3. His love of music comes from his grandfather.

"My grandfather was really my best friend growing up," he told ABC News.

"He was the one who opened me up to a whole world of music that seemed to have been passed over by my generation."

4. He has a dual citizenship.

He's Canadian, having been raised in Burnaby, BC, as the eldest of three children.

But he got dual citizenship since his mother, Amber is of Italian descent. So this gives him a lot more freedom.

5. He's married to Argentine model and actress, Luisana Lopilato.

They actually met in Argentia, and it seems that sparks ignited right away.

"Everyone told us that it was impossible," he told Love Belfast about their initial distance making things difficult.

Thankfully, they made it against all odds. His song "Haven't Met You Yet" was even written about her!

In addition to their son Noah, they have a daughter, Vida, and another son named Elias.

6. He took a two-year break from music after his son's cancer diagnosis.

While he never fell out of love with music, he told Love Belfast that his heart was broken because of his son's diagnosis.

"I just didn’t know if I had it in me to go out there and be joyful. It just wasn’t something I could turn on."

He returned with a big bang, with his successful 10th studio album, "Love" and a sold-out tour soon after.

7. He worked as a fisherman.

Since his dad was a salmon fisherman, Michael joined him in his line of work when he turned 14.

He called those six summers "the most deadly physical work I'll ever know in my lifetime.

But it was also the job that helped him become a man.

"We'd be gone for two, sometimes three months at a time and the experience of living and working among guys over twice my age taught me a lot about responsibility and what it means to be a man."

8. He got disqualified from a singing contest.

When he was 17, he entered (and won!) a local singing competition.

But since you had to be 18 to participate, he was disqualified in the end. Hey, at least he took a risk!

9. His big break came in 1992.

While he was disqualified from a previous talent competition, the organizer, Beverly Delich, was so impressed by his talent.

She ended up helping him enter The British Columbia Youth Talent Search, which he won.

10. He has an irregular heartbeat.

This is called Holiday Heart Syndrome.

"I noticed that when I had a few drinks I could feel my heart race," he told The Daily Mail.

"A lot of people get it, but my problem was that I hated it. I could feel it."

This has caused him a lot of anxiety in his life.

"I was being a hypochondriac, but I was really sensitive to it. If you're partying too much, any kind of stimulant can have an affect on taking your heart out of rhythm."

11. He's raising his kids to be bilingual.

The singer is proud of him and his wife's heritage.

He told The Daily Mail that "Mum will only speak Spanish and Dad will only speak English. I am a proud Canadian of Italian heritage and he will have all these heritages."

12. He faced backlash after a video of him elbowing his wife went viral.

With domestic violence on the rise during isolation from the coronavirus, fans were worried about Luisana's safety after this Instagram live went viral.

She was even forced to address the controversy in a statement.

On Instagram, she defended her husband, writing, "I want you all to know that I have no doubts about who my husband is and that I would choose him again a thousand times over."
