Woman Comes Up With 'Candy Sticking' For Socially Distant Trick-Or-Treating

Since Halloween is fast approaching, many parents are still debating how they will handle trick-or-treating this year. Are they still going to let their kids go out to get candy? Will they still be handing out candy to the neighborhood kids?

Those are all valid questions. So this one woman came out with a genius and safe idea for kids to still be able to get their treats on Halloween.

Wendy Reeves Winter is one cool mama who wanted kids to be able to enjoy Halloween this year despite COVID concerns.

So she came up with what she calls "candy sticking." If you've never heard of it, I'll explain this unique idea to you.

The idea is to use bamboo skewers and to tape each individually wrapped candy onto the stick.

Then you can just place the candy skewers around your yard or front porch area for trick-or-treaters to pick up. It's kinda like hunting for Easter eggs.

Not only will this serve as additional decoration for your yard, but it's a much safer option for kids.

This way, the kiddos don't have to get too close to anyone and no more touching the bowl of candy either.

Isn't this such a genius idea or what?

Does it make you wonder, "Why didn't I think of that?" Ha, ha! I'm always so impressed when ordinary people come up with smart ideas that we can all use. What do you think of this?

Wendy is a huge fan of Halloween and the thought of canceling it would be too heartbreaking to bear.

So, she knew there had to be a better way to ensure the spirit of Halloween can go on. Now, the kids can still be safe and have fun this Halloween despite the pandemic.

After Wendy posted her idea on Facebook, a lot of people started commenting.

People were so blown away by her simple yet genius idea the post has since gone viral. In just a little over a week, she received 9, 500 likes.

Most of the comments Wendy's post received were positive.

People were calling her idea "great", "awesome", and "cool". Some even said they would like to do the same. I mean why not? I don't see a problem with this at all.

And if anyone is worried about kids having sharps sticks to run around with that shouldn't be an issue.

Wendy would still be there to supervise the yard and pretty much all the parents will be escorting their smaller kids, too.

So what's your take on this Halloween trick-or-treat idea? Are you into it?

Would you set something like this up on your lawn? Do you have any other socially distant and safe Halloween ideas you can share? I want to know.
