Kim Cattrall Admits She Became A US Citizen 'So I Could Vote In This Election'

Oh, Kim Cattrall. How I love thee. Out of the timeless blondes in the industry, Kim will always be one of my favorites.

Not only is she Samantha Jones from the eternally important Sex and the City series, but she is an advocate for the planet and all it's fabulous creatures, which is exactly why she's registered to vote in the US election this upcoming November.

In many ways, Kim Cattrall holds a lot of similarities to her iconic character in *Sex and the City*.

Kim and Samantha both share a love of men, amazing fashion, anti-aging miracles and being fabulous!

However, where Samantha Jones falters in her stance on politics, Kim shines.

*SATC* fans will remember one of of Samantha Jones' most iconic lines: "I don't believe in the Republican party, or the Democratic party. I just believe in parties." Chef's kiss, tbh.

As it turns out, Kim couldn't be further from her iconic character in that sense.

While chatting about her new show *Filthy Rich* with Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest, Kim revealed she had finally gotten her American citizenship "so I could vote in this election."

Kim Cattrall was born in Liverpool, and raised in Canada before moving to New York to pursue her career in acting.

Explaining the citizenship test, Kim said: "There are 10 questions, and if you get the first six right, you pass. But it wasn’t an easy test, you have to study."

"So, I passed and then I had to take the oath. I was so emotional," she admitted.

"I was verklempt. I didn't expect that reaction. The officer who sent me through, she said, 'You know, some people don’t take this as seriously and I was really touched at how emotional it was for [you].'"

Yas, Kim! That's our smarty pants!
