Quotes For People Who Prefer The Spooky Side Of Life

I'm one of those people who calls Halloween their favorite holiday. Part of that is simply because it occurs during my favorite season in general, but there is also just a sense of pure fun that goes with it.

It's a chance to embrace the spooky side of life in a safe, fun way, and a license to eat a boatload of candy.

What's not to like?

I've mostly grown out of my morbid teen phase. It never made it quite to the stage of true goth, but there are some leather combat boots, too many zippers, and Scandinavian symphonic metal bands in my past.

My phase was more about a fascination with the darker side of life.

I'm a bookworm at heart, so I also read a lot of books about different cultures' practices and beliefs about the afterlife.

Oh, and sexy vampires, because I was a teenage girl.

However, my sexy vampires were from Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles, thank you very much.

I'll take Lestat becoming a rockstar over Edward brooding and sparkling any day.

Like I said, I've mostly outgrown that phase.

Still, when the summer humidity finally switches over to fall crispness, everything smells like pumpkin spice, and decorative gourds are plentiful, I get excited.

I also dust off my Hocus Pocus DVD, because you can damn well believe it'll be playing on repeat until November 1st. (After which, I switch to The Nightmare Before Christmas, obviously.)
