'American Murder' Is The Latest Obsession For 'Unsolved Mysteries' Fans

As we get closer and closer to Halloween, more and more spooky stuff will be available for us to watch. Some people, however, are less interested in monsters and fictional evil than they are in the real life version, which is why true crime as a genre is exploding right now.

Netflix, of course, has everyone obsessed with true crime covered.

True crime is one of the most popular genres out there right now.

Whether it's the fantastical and dramatic films like Tiger King or the morbid curiosity-inspiration that comes from more historical events like The Ted Bundy Tapes, there is a lot of true crime programming on Netflix right now, and it's super popular.

*Unsolved Mysteries* was hugely popular this summer on Netflix.

The show, which originally began in 1987, was so popular this summer that Netflix even ordered a second season, which comes out on October 19th.

But what about people who can't wait that long for their next true crime fix?

Don't worry — Netflix has you covered.

The streaming service just released a trailer for a new title: American Murder: The Family Next Door, which will cover the tragic murder of the Watts' family by husband and father Chris Watts. American Murder will use archival footage, social media posts, and real-life recordings as it retells this tragedy.

It looks amazing.

You can watch the trailer for yourself right here! American Murder drops on September 30th, and I personally can't wait.
