Quotes For When Your Pet Is Also Your Therapist

I'm not sure how I would have gotten through 2020 without my dogs. Besides ensuring that I haven't spent the last six months alone in my house, they are very willing to listen to me complain about how stressed I am.

Or at least, they curl up on my lap and let me talk to myself as long as the petting doesn't stop.

Treats are so much less expensive than seeing an actual therapist.

Though, once you weigh out the year-over-year costs of food and vet bills and grooming, it probably balances out in the end.

Especially when they need the kind of regular grooming mine do. Their quarantine hair was worse than mine.

Of course, this wonderfulness isn't just specific to dogs.

It's simply that my pets happen to be of the canine variety.

Cats, rats, birds, fish, ant farms, whatever you have, you can talk to it in a pinch.

Heck, even plants are happy to listen as long as they are watered regularly.

The point is, I'm not sure what I would do without my furry fellows when the isolation of this insane year gets rough on my nerves.

As someone who is introverted and has tons of home-bound hobbies, I don't know how extroverts are even managing.

It boggles my mind.

So give your pet a hug (or gesture of affection appropriate to their species — please don't hug your fish) and tell them how you're feeling. You'll probably discover that they are very good listeners.
