Everyone has different reactions to newer versions of their favorite shows. Some people don't want anyone to touch or make changes to their beloved classics, while others welcome and are excited for fresh new takes on the content they love.
Golden Girls fans were recently divided on this issue when an all-Black re-imagining of the show happened on Zoom on September 8th.
Following four older women as they navigate life, romance, sex, friendship, and love, the show ran from 1985 to 1992, and it was so sucessful it even spawned a spinoff, The Golden Palace that ran for a single season as well.
With Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan, Estelle Getty, and the absolutely iconic Betty White, the characters of Dorothy, Blanche, Sophia, and Rose were pretty much perfectly portrayed and beloved by fans.
That doesn't mean that a fresh take on the characters is unwelcome, though.
Tracee shared a video of a still picture of the original cast of Golden Girls, but it quickly morphed into showing off a new all-Black cast of the show, being brought together for a special Zoom event on September 8th.
"Join us for an evening that takes a look back to the sitcoms of yesteryear- Before you could pause your screens or binge watch," the event page read.
"This event is in partnership with Zoom, and the first episode is spotlighting and supporting Color of Change - the nation's largest online racial justice organization," the description continued.
