From the moment Lady Gaga released her first single into the world, a star was born.

She's been entertaining us since then with her outrageous outfits and captivating performances. She even dabbled in acting and earned herself an Oscar.

1. She used to pretend to be her own manager:

"When I started my career, I decided around 19 years old that I was going to go for it as a singer because I couldn't get any jobs as an actress," she told Ellen DeGeneres.

She said that she would drag her piano around New York City, banging on doors.

"I would call up and I would be like: 'Hello this is Lady Gaga's manager, she's really hot right now, we would like the 10pm slot for her if you can for her in."

She continued:

"I used to just pretend I was my own manager to try and get the best gig that I could."

2. She uses a stage name:

Yes, her name isn't really Lady Gaga. It's Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta.

With such a long name, no wonder she shortened it! She got the inspiration for it from listening to the 1984 Queen song "Radio Ga Ga."

3. She went to the same school as Paris Hilton:

They both attended Covent of the Sacred Heart.

"I went to a lovely school and I got an incredible education," she told The Guardian. "And I actually think that my education is what really sets me apart, 'cos I'm very smart."

4. She was on a reality TV show before she became famous:

Back when she was just Stefani Germanotta, she was one of the unsuspecting people caught on the MTV show, Boiling Points.

The show paid unsuspecting subjects $100 if they could keep their cool for 14 minutes when irritating situations went down.

Unfortunately, Gaga did not make it through.

She was also on The Hills in 2008. She was in the music scene back then, but still relatively unknown.

Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port were responsible for styling her on the show.

5. She's done shocking the world:

If you've noticed a toned-down Gaga over the past few years, there is a reason for that.

“It's changed since then because, number one, it's no longer shocking to have pink hair," she told Oprah Winfrey.

“I think the most shocking thing that I could possible do is be completely vulnerable and honest with you about my life and what I’ve been through,” said Gaga.

She continued:

"What I've been through, the struggles that I've seen [and] been a part of, and share that with the world so that I can help other people who are suffering.”

6. Norman Reedus was in one of her music videos:

Who knew she was a fan of The Walking Dead? The actor got to be in Gaga's music video for "Judas" — no audition needed.

"She asked if I wanted to do the video so I said, 'yeah, that should be fun!’" he told Rolling Stone.

7. She once had a wardrobe malfunction on stage:

This happened when the singer was performing during her Enigma Las Vegas residency.

She was struggling to get her harness on so that she can soar on safely through the air.

"How do I work this thing?" she said into the mic.

"Okay, I think I got it," she added before she went soaring through the air like the free bird she is and began singing "Paparazzi."

This could have gone horribly, tbh.

8. She had the most awkward FaceTime with Jimmy Fallon:

She was supposed to reveal exciting news during the at-home version of his show, but she seemed very stressed out and disheveled.

“I can’t talk right now. I’m really sorry. It’s just, like, a really weird time right now. Hello? Jimmy? I can’t see you? Am I on TV?”

"I apologize," Jimmy said about Gaga being on TV. But, like, isn't that the point of the call?

Even when she said she would call him back soon, she asked to move the time to Monday while wearing her glasses upside down on her face.

Awkwaaarrd.

9. She wants to have kids:

"I look forward to being a mom," she told InStyle.

"Isn't it incredible what we can do? We can hold a human inside and grow it. Then it comes out, and it's our job to keep it alive."

10. When she was in college, her haters created a Facebook group called "Stefani Germanotta, you'll never be famous":

It is, obviously, incredibly heartbreaking that a group like this existed.

But she got the last laugh in the end. I bet they are eating their words.

11. She's the first woman in history to win an Oscar, Grammy, BAFTA, and Golden Globe in the same year.

Oh, the irony of that group. She has been proving her haters wrong right from the start!

Yassss, Queen!

12. She's a lot shorter than you thought:

She may have a larger-than-life personality, but she's only 5'1"!

She looks way taller than she is because of her captivating performances, outrageous outfits, and, of course, those monstrous heels.

13. She once spent $39,000 on ghost-hunting equipment:

Lady Gaga goes gaga for ghosts — and not in a good way.

It's why she allegedly spent thousands of dollars on Electro Magnetic Field meters to detect them.

"[Gaga] believes in paranormal activity and won't take any risks when she is on the road. It's important to her to be safe from spirits," a source close to the star said.
