Family Decorates Dogs' Favorite Peek-Through Fence Hole To Entertain Neighbors

A family hoping to bring some cheer to their neighbors' lives have turned their two dogs' favorite peek-through fence hole into an ever-changing hilarious work of art.

As Bored Panda reported, Ripley and Burger King are two very good doggos who absolutely loving spying on their next-door neighbors through the fence, so their owner Brian Stanley decided to make their favorite hobby more fun for everyone.

As Brian explained, the dogs' fence shenanigans actually began a year ago when he noticed one of his pups had a penchant for spying.

“The whole thing started last August when Burger was just a few months old and started digging under the fence so that he could look at people going by," the dog-dad told BP.

"To solve this, I cut a hole in the fence to act as a window for him. He immediately started using the window and stopped digging.”

That simple hole remained a modest peek-through spot for the dogs, until March came around and the coronavirus outbreak forced the entire world to lockdown.

"I found myself out of work and my son home from school," Brian explained. "The two of us noticed an increase in foot and bike traffic on the street side of the fence. I came up with the idea to paint a dog-themed painting to frame the window, which would be brought to life when Burger stuck his head through the fence.”

Of course, once they noticed how much passers-by loved their fence art, the family started going bigger with their hilarious designs.

Their latest display sees the dogs feature in a lineup of retro Pac-Man ghosts as the dot-gobbler himself closes in on them.

They've also taken some inspiration from artwork, including the famous Girl with the Pearl Earring piece.

This version was modified accordingly to suit Burger King, becoming "The Dog with the Bone Earring" instead.

Fabulous, darling, just fabulous!

BK also featured in another nod to famous art, this time going the Edvard Munch route with a much more adorable version of "The Scream".

Behold, "The Bark."

Burger clearly understood the mood of this particular piece and has adjusted his facial expression accordingly.

Although Burger regularly features in the fence art, Brian says his other dog, Ripley, does stick her head through there every so often herself.

"Ripley... is more tentative," he explained. "She is somewhat more of a barker towards anyone approaching the fence. She loves the attention but is more hesitant than Burger to embrace it."

"Burger, on the other hand, loves attention. The fence window I cut is the first place he goes when I let him outside. I’ve seen him just stand there with his head through the hole watching the world go by.”

Brian said his family has no intention of stopping the hilarious fence art any time soon.

In fact, he revealed they have enough rough ideas to keep the fun going right up until Spring 2024!

"As we come up with more ideas, it extends how long we can keep this up," he said. "Basically, it will continue until my imagination runs out of ideas.”
