10+ Interesting Things About Kelly Osbourne Fans Didn't Know

As the daughter of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, we have practically watched Kelly grow up.

We have seen her make mistakes, go through an emo phase, and more. But as a 35-year-old now, she is not that same wild child anymore.

It is time to get to know Kelly again with these 10+ random facts. Let's dive in!

1. She was almost in *Freaky Friday*:

She would have played Maddie, the best friend of Lindsay Lohan's character.

She dropped out when she was 18 after her mother was diagnosed with colon cancer. Obviously, this was the right move.

“I said, ‘[expletive] you, career, hello, Mother.’ I became my mum’s nurse 24/7. I thought I was going to lose her – it was awful," she told *Cosmopolitan*.

Thankfully, her mother recovered and has gone on to live a normal, happy life.

She also underwent a preventive double mastectomy to prevent breast cancer.

2. She's multi-talented:

She's one of the children of rock stars who have found their way to fame.

In the past, she's done it all: singing, reality TV and even hosting from her time on Fashion Police.

3. She was on *Dancing with the Stars*:

She competed on Season Nine and ended up finishing third in the dancing competition. Not too shabby!

Competing on the show even helped her shed some serious weight.

"[My partner, Louis van Amstel] made me eat turkey burgers and salads and explained to me that a high-protein, low-carb diet would keep me energized," she told *Shape* magazine.

"Then I started losing weight and realized, 'Oh, it’s true what they say: Diet and exercise really work!'" she said.

4. She went through an emo phase:

She used to have a lot in common with her rocker father!

She would wear black lipstick and had several "emo" hairstyles. Of course, there were also many tattoos that added to the look.

5. Speaking of tattoos, she had 15 of them removed:

These included red wings on her back to honor her mother, Sharon Osbourne, the word “Daddy” to honor her father, Ozzy Osbourne, and the name “Jack” in honor of her brother.

When she was on the talk show *This Morning*, she said that the tattoos were a "mistake."

She said that it was "my way of self harming, because I really knew it would upset my mum and dad."

She added, "As you get older, you realize that you don't want to be defined by your tattoos, because that's not the type of person that I am."

6. Jonathan Ross called her fat on TV:

Ugh, the nerve.

She had been on his show to promote her second album, "Sleeping in the Nothing."

She told The Guardian: "He took a picture of me from my album cover and then another picture of me and goes, 'That's not you, you're fat!"

7. She was on her family's reality TV show:

We can still hear Ozzy screaming out, "Sharon!" in his signature accent!

The show followed the lives of the eccentric Osbourne family and ended up being super popular. It's how a lot of people came familiar with the entire family.

8. She has two half-siblings:

She's part of a blended family. Before Ozzy was married to Sharon, he was married to Thelma Riley. Together they welcomed two children, Jessica and Louis.

Kelly also has an adopted half-brother named Elliot who Ozzy adopted when he was with Thelma.

9. She had an unofficial marriage:

Back in 2006, she "wed" her ex, Matty Derham.

But since they got married outside in Ireland, Irish law didn't view their marriage as legal. It's a good thing this happened since they split up anyway.

10. She struggled with addiction:

“I never truly slept, I would pass out from whatever I drank or took and came to," she said on The Recovery podcast with DJ Fat Tony.

She said that she was "a haze of hangovers and withdrawals" from the drugs and alcohol.

Thankfully, she is now three years sober.

“I never thought I’d be alive at 35 years old," she said.

“A lot of my friends didn’t make it and burying them was hard. I had survivor’s guilt for a long time. I’m almost three years sober.”

11. She was dropped from her record label:

While her cover of Madonna’s “Papa Don’t Preach” did very well, her album "Shut Up" was a big fail.

When Epic Records dropped her, her music career really recovered after that.

12. She once had beef with Lady Gaga:

"I loved Lady Gaga. I totally believed in everything she stood for, until I realized she's a great big hypocrite," Kelly told Cosmopolitan in 2013.

"Don't say, 'When you see bullying, intervene,' while letting your fans send me death threats. If my fans did that, I would not stand for it."

She continued: "You can say whatever you want with your millions of monsters. I know the truth. You bells and whistles mean nothing to me."

"You're feeding on the freaks and geeks to further your career? Do you really care about the gay community? Because if you did, you'd stand up for it more than you do."

While it was never confirmed what caused the seizure, she recovered shortly after. She also hasn't had one since.
